No you should definitely be getting notifications on the watch and the screen lighting up, can you check the settings and make sure you have notifications set to push to the watch?

Can’t remember the setting exactly as I don’t have a watch anymore.

You haven’t got Do Not Disturb on have you?

I get notifications, the watch buzzes fine but the screen only wakes when I lift my wrist or tap it. Then I see the notification.

And no, definitely not got DND on!

Aaagh, temptation is too great. Very are doing their 10% back promotion which would make a new Apple Watch Ultra to be £764. I think the only reason I'm going for the high model is the longer battery life!!

That's done. I've watched YouTube, read reviews, from both casual runners and iron men/triathletes and they all loved the Apple Watch Ultra compared to other things like Garmin Fenix. So I went ahead and ordered one with the trail loop. Really looking forward to taking it for a whirl this coming week. Will also try out Apple Fitness+ and see how it compares to Peloton's workout app.
 
Costco seems a bargain. It's a massive chunk off the price.

Even if you wanted another strap you could buy one and still come in less than RRP.

Never bought from Costco. Are they easy to deal with ?

I went with the blue/grey trail loop even though I wanted black. Got it from Very in the end. 849-30 (sale)=819 then 81.90 off if you use their Buy Now Pay Later so £737 which is only marginally dearer than Costco.

The black/grey band at Costco was priced at £819 and was out of stock.

Yeah I need the large black grey trail loop. I could get the yellow dive strap and buy the one I want separate. But I have large wrists and even the dive strap is a bit too small for me.

I managed to smash my 5 with my belt buckle in a nothing incident which was annoying and it would cost as much to repair so it was sort of wrote off. I have got an 8 and so far so good. Its pretty much the same day to day as the 5 but the battery seems better.
 
Oh my days. This is marvellous. Feel a bit overwhelmed as there’s so much to do with it, wondering where to start!

I picked Mickey Mouse as the watch face. Reminds me when I had a Mickey watch as a kid.
