pre ordered mine in black ..
got a USB dvd rom for installing XP

roll on tue fingers XX then i sell can my PDA ..

well if the screen was bigger (so as to fill the bezzel) it would be an ideal laptop for "basic" stuff



but currently i think "most" people will buy this as a suppliment, not a main computer.


that said, surely something like the iphone/itouch would be a better option?


im considering either the eeepc or the ipod touch.

Yep this is an excellent alternative, good value too as smaller packages tend to cost a premium, I'll have an Eee PC as well as a regular sized laptop.

I fail to see how that's news - they've always shown those colours and they've always said they'll come later... They even show the different colours on the box of the 4G!

I left the standard Xandros install on the SSD (for fast boot access for email/web/etc). The compiz-fusion you see in the vid is running under Xubuntu on a 8Gb SD card that I can dual boot too when starting the eeepc

Knowing them, not very well It struggles enough on a normal drive

Isn't there also a limit on the number of read and writes you can make to a USB / SD disk, thus reducing the time the operating system will work?

Just taking a look at which might be the better storage on this thing (SD card v USB pen drive). Im inclined to use the USB pen drive, as they are faster and can come in higher capacity. Not sure if getting more main memory is needed though. Roll on the 12th!
