***The Official Asus Eee PC Thread***

I prefer the White, stands out more. Black just seems same old boring colour, that every laptop is in, said before reminds me of old IBM laptops in black.

this is the real test of flexbility.

I have a t mobile vario which i can connect to my laptop and use as a modem for 3g internet access.

Is that possible with this device?

Depends on how you connect it I guess and if that access has Linux drivers - if its on XP it will be fine...

Presume there must be generic Bluetooth drivers to run a dongle and therefore allow you to have a net connection...

Something like ActiveSync may be more difficult (assume MS dont provide a Linux version :p)

Yah overdue again and a competitor now has black in (and ready to ship) at a much cheaper price... argh. Problem is by the time I cancel and get the funds back they will be out of stock elsewhere as they are selling fast. Yes I'm impatient.

I think the black one looks better imo - less cheap looking, while the white one does look kinda stylish it also looks a bit "cheap and plasticy" imo.

fake in what way, its either 8gb or its not

Friend of mine bought some SD memory off the bay and the seller had sold them as class 6 and they weren't and one was only half the capacity that it had been sold at - he found they had scanned and edited the labels and just stuck them over the top of the original label - didn't even bother to remove originals.

thats not a good picture of the black - look around at some of the other UK sites selling them they have much better pictures.

oof and just to make it even worse I just noticed that elsewhere they have free delivery on this item on top of being cheaper :(

If thats the price from a reputable seller then its great - with just so many fake cards available on the net which either declare to have 8GB storage, when they dont - or have inferior chips that dont actually hit 6MB/s its easy enough to get duped...

I cant find a decent make 8GB SDHC Class 6 for under £55 after having a look - just hope you havent been swindled...

Dont see why, i got a 4gb class 4 SDHC for £17 delivered!
Class 6 cards are a lot harder to find and vastly more expensive due to the speeds they run (compare a Sandisk SDHC Ultra2 to an Extreme 3)...

Doh - just saw Rroffs reply...

Ordered at another location last night, they had 9 when I placed my order it was 0 within 5 minutes. Should be here wed.

I cant wait now, no doubt going to loose hours to tinkering with it :D.

Yeah last time I'm pre-ordering :S I'd rather miss out than be sitting around like this when its available elsewhere - atleast I can spend my money on something else :S
