***The Official Asus Eee PC Thread***

The touchscreen definitely interests me as I was looking to get a Tablet PC anyway since they are quite useful things and I have a few gadgets that have them. Probably will get one pre-ordered when we get a better idea regards UK pricing and the models. Anything under £350 for 8gb/12gb with touchscreen will have me sold as the size still is its USP and main reason I want it - much more useful than the 701 and worth the extra £100+ in my eyes...

Definitely can see quite a few students picking one up as a perfect lecture device...

ps3ud0

Just received the bluetooth adapter for mine today, and I can now connect it to my orbit and use the internet anywhere.

If the 900 models are £350ish, with built-in GPS and bluetooth, as well as having the larger screen and storage space, I will definately consider selling this one and buying one of them instead but I have a feeling they will cost a lot more especially for the first few months after they are released.

I managed to source one of these this week and have just finished putting XP on it.

It's a lovely little thing. Sure, the screen is tiny, but compared to using a PDA for internet surfing, it's superb.

I've got the 4gb version which I've boosted to 2gb RAM and shoved a 8gb SDHC in.

If you can pick up a ultra portable CDROM/DVDROM then this is the ultimate holiday gadget. (In my opinion - Even better than a Archos when coupled with an External HDD).

if i had the money i'd get one of these over the asus 900

the great thing about the EEE is that it already has a huge community and can be modded extensively.

that *probably* can't be said for a lot of other similar devices.

can't wait to get mine and dual boot Arch/XP onto the SSD
