Prime was running the same time as Orthos, So I assume thats the reason for the slower time.

I will rerun it after work and post the result, but I do not think I should have run it at the same time ..>DOH!!!!

ok all oces ar very nice... but my only concern is a 24/7 setup...

so is anyone with a 6400 or 6600 runniing at 8/9x333 for 24.7?

Im at 340 x 9 (6600). Was perfectly stable for gaming at stock volts and settings, but would crash after 5 mins on orthos. I raised the Vcore to 1.34 and it has been rock stable for 3/4 hours of orthos (hitting ~55C on stock cooler - getting a scythe ninja soon, so that might bring it down). I dont use my PC 24.7, but apart from the orthos crashes that were sorted by raising the Vcore, there have been no other crashes.

As for memory think im running 4:5 or something (think its at 850, whereas its rated to 800 - 6400 HZ gskill). I could probably get around 3.3-.5 ghz, but im going to wait for my new cooler.

cool.. tnx pikeypriest... that was exaclty what i needed to know..

I am with a custom H2O setup here so temps are not an issue...
as for mems i am gonna go for the corsair C4.. found them at a very good price.
I have to admit though those Gskill are pretty good as well

by the way... imo go for a water urself... u wont go wow!!! but in time u will learn to apreciate it... and its something that u will always have.. whatever rig u are running. u can build a basic setup as cheap as 70-80£ and upgrade as you go along (30£pump, 30£block 20£rad, no tank just T-line) and trust me a single rad for future use on a gfx is not bad at all.. bare in mind that gfx waterblocks have very low resistance... i.e a small pump is more than adequate.

sorry for getting off topic.. but I think it was worth it... I mean u have a nice setup... invest in something worthwile ;)

Ouch, more than I though. My system runs 400FSB fine at Auto settings, ran at 414 for a while but backed off to 400 due to wanting to use my system rather than stability testing. Looks like 428 (for 3GHz) is going to take some extra volts, managed to use clockgen up to 441 before a freeze so it's got to be possible :) (he hopes)

Yeah but TBH 2.8ghz is not really stretching that cpu.
I am on water and temps are around 29c idle 50-55c full load depending on ambient temps.

NB temps are fine too.

So no worries there :D

3.6ghz needs less volts obviously

Couldn't agree more, this has 3.2+ in it but I simply can't take the FSB that high with this board - originally had a E6600 otherwise I would have got a DS3. In reality I can't get this chip higher than 3GHz for 24/7 usage without frying my board.

What happened to the E6600?

Felt I went OTT, originally thought I'd upgrade my Venice to an X2. Then thought Core Duo will cost me a bit more but I could do with going 2Gb of RAM, should have gone for a 6300/6400 originally but got swayed into a 6600 for the extra cache. Bottom line, I spent too much and could recoop £100 by downgrading and getting comparable performance. This 6300 is plenty fast enough :D
