Curse the P5W DH!

If the P5B Deluxe came with the remote then I'd snap that up today, but no! only the lesser clocking P5W comes with the DH remote so I have to get that :o and spend more to get an E6600 for 3.6Ghz. :o

What am I on about?

Beats me :)

Good luck getting a 6600 to 3.6G aswell, on sensible volts.

3.6ghz shouldn't be to much of a problem 1.475- 1.5 volts should see that.

To be fair, only a few chips can do that, a lot of people were misled by the ES results. +0.2v for 24/7 usage is quite high, and I imagine it'd get quite hot too.

I wouldn't suggest using that voltage on air.Before I got water I was getting 70c with a zalman 9500.Although on silent settings and it was the height of summer.

However with nice cooling 1.5v is fine 24/7

Many retails E6600's are getting 3.6ghz with a bump in vcore.
Just like may 6300's are reaching 3.2 ghz -3.4ghz with mobo's that can handle high FSB like the DS3.

If temps are fine the 1.5v is not that big a deal IMO.

Week 27 E6600 are doing well, I've seen quite a few 3.6GHz+ on air with less volts than mine, yet to see many week 28's. They seem to be getting better week by week, the early ones not so good. Don't know if its a solid trend or the 27's are a cherry week.

Have you been any higher than 3.6ghz?

The board tops out at 417Mhz, gets in to windows at 3.75GHz, maybe it needs more vMCH. Prime fails under an hour at 3.7Ghz at 1.6v (bios), runs Pi ok. I don't like that kind of voltage for long on air. Average chip, 3.6Ghz 24/7 is what I wanted so can't complain.

Here's my week26 E6600, Ds4 and GEIL 6400 2X1GB....not had much time to have a good play....but results so far are not too bad considering i only paid £126 for ram and £107 delivered for the board.....no prime yet as need better cooling as using a zalman. :)

i am just about to order the E6600 and the p5w, still not sure which is the best memory!!

G Skill??

G.Skill 2GB DDR2 GA PC2-6400

or

G.Skill 2GB DDR2 HZ PC2-8000

any other makes worth looking at??

thx

Yes 4-8-8-23.....that was auto settings tried all the 5's + 4's no go....but those timings did break 14s pi as it got me a few mhz more and at the voltages i am willing to give it at the mo....ram don't seem to like more than 2.1v....if you got other timings suggestions for me to try?.

Just juimped on the Conroe bandwagon.

E6600 Week 28
XMS6400 800mhz@4-4-4-12 2v

Currently running Orthos (4 hrs) @ 3.6 1.35(1.556?)vcore.

Having some MAJOR problems with the mobo though. The voltage regulators are faulty in that cpu Vcore:

1.3 = 1.35
1.3125 = 1.4
1.325 = 1.456
1.3375 = 1.5
1.35 = 1.556

...so its going back to shop later this week.

Hoping that 1.35 is actually 1.35 and not 1.556 although I doubt I would get 3.6 on default vcore - I'll report back when I get the new board.

I just got this board today with my E6700 and G-skill HZ6400. I think it Asus PC probe 2 thats not reading correct in windows as I have the same sort of voltages showing yet in the bios they are a lot more stable. Temps are all over the place on Probe as well. What are people using to measur ein windows as I cant get MBM to work(or how do you get it to read temps).
