Phemo said:3GHz should be pretty simple. You might need to change your RAM ratio - set it to the 533MHz option which will be the 1:1 ratio and see how that goes.
axer said:Hi Guys,
Have just bought a E6600 and Asus P5W DH Deluxe from a guy off of another overclocking forum. He currently runs the chip on water and benches @ between 3.8 and 3.915 Ghz however runs the system 24/7 @ 3.6 (400x9).
I don’t know a great deal about his water cooling setup (i.e. how good it is, I'll find out later) but he tells me the chip idles at 33deg C and his room temperature is pretty hot.
I'm hoping to run the chip @ 400x9 without going down the air route, eventually I'll get the Titan Vanessa/Amanda (which ever is the TEC one) if I need to, but until its available (should I need to even get it) I'm after some solid advice for what HSF to get, ideally to run the chip at 3.6Ghz.
Does anyone think I'm expecting too much from air on a proven chip like this?
Thanks in advanced for any advice!

I can get to 3.6 but i dont want to push my voltage over 1.6v as it drops to 1.53 load
