Looks good enough to me, not exactly and picturesque scene to be taking a screenshot of, but having watched numerous streams of the game when the action gets intense and spells and body parts are flying all over the place it looks great.

Minor details like the wizards arcane tornado spell picking up body parts as it swirls around are what make a game look great.

Could also be a case that the current f&f client doesnt have all the high resolution textures to cut down on bandwidth usage. No doubt this game will be a 15Gb+ installation when its done.

Depends how well the thorns stat scales really. Plus I imagine the temporary pets only last long enough to hit something so won't benefit much from it. Your zombies, hounds, etc. will do.

Ah that skill system is looking pretty immense! Settling on 6 active skills is already quite a challenge but to then have 5 further ways of tweaking each and every one of them... *head asplodes*.

In Diablo II you'd basically use 3 moves at end game, maybe 4 :p

Although, that's because you'd need to stick stat points in them or they'd suck. So in this I guess you'll use a more diverse set of moves.

Having read those character pages I really can't decide between the Wizard and Monk for my first playthrough!

Maybe check out some videos to see how they look - to help you decide?

Here is a video of the entire Friends and Family Beta from start to end with the Wizard.

And for something a little different, here is a level 13 Monk (over powered at that level) dealing some insane damage!

I'd never heard of a monk in Diablo1... did some Googling, and it turns out D1 had an expansion? I'd never heard of it! Not made by Blizzard tho, and not canon, so I probably won't rush out and get it :p

It was called Hellfire and i think it was made by Sierra Entertainment.

I think it got the CDs somewhere.
