My trusty old original x52 is on it way out the plastic is now leeching it oils it must be 20 years old if not more, what's folks using these days.
Before i mention new stuff i will say..... my xbox pads and my fanatec GT2 wheel and gear stick all suffered from rubber rot. it was disgusting. however if that is all that is wrong with your stick get hold of some pure ethanol if you can (failing that other solvents should work). it solved my rubber rot issues completely as it removes all the rubbery coating... so you may get a few more years life out of you current stick

I have an X55 and X56 HOTAS. i think i said earlier in this thread when they worked they were both great for elite with loads of buttons, but the throttle wiring loom is prone to failure. last time i spoke with logitech about it they said they were looking at improving that part*****, and since then they have bought out a revised "RGB" version...... so perhaps it has been fixed.
it is a hard one, if it is fixed i recomment the X56 fully. if it isnt then, i am on my 2nd X56 (I think... not 100% sure) after gotten through 2 x55s and also having my x55 throttle repaired via a 3rd party after the warranty ran out all with the same issue... and my x56 throttle has started playing up again...... not currently an issue for me with elite as i am twin sticking it which is an interesting control for elite.... but is an issue for MSFS 2020
if it hasnt been fixed i think i would go for
Thrustmaster T16000M FCS Hotas - Joystick and Throttle
edit i take it back, ocuk do sell it (I have deleted my old link)
Order Thrustmaster T-16000M FCS HOTAS PC Gaming Joystick and Throttle (PC 2960778) now online and benefit from fast delivery.
www.overclockers.co.uk
or just get another x52pro (ocuk also have stock of that)
if money is no object there are far more high end stuff like the warthog (no twist rudder axis on the stick so will need pedals as well) or stuff by virpil but that is way over my paygrade.
***** the x55 / x56 has had quite the life.
originally it was saitek who made the x52 and it was fairly well made.... madcatz bought them out and they designed the x55/x56.
logitech bought them out just after the X56 released, hence early units were made by madcatz, the RGB version however logitech have to take responsibility for as they had been in ownership for a few years before that released.
