Can't believe that FD have never allowed player set mission.

I'll pay someone who enjoys it to find me the mats I need. Oi you, go to System A and transport my cutter to System B (ship is auto insured and all modules/cargo locked) stuff like that.
 
i dont understand this

why is this engineer only giving me 1 engineer of heatsink ammo
but 5 ties for all other heatsink stuff ?

my Anti-Xeno build is 99% complete

so decided to pop on my headset for VR mode
and hunt some Xenos


managed to kill a few scouts
but those interceptors keep turning up swarming me and i died a couple of times

now I'm fully repaired up again, my AX cannons aren't firing , no idea why

it's nice that you make money from killing these, which makes it more worth while :)

I think i may know what the problem is, maybe the default type of firing mode is not on the correct one
it could be set to forward fire or fire at will or something, i need to check this
 
I've just jumped on to this. Been eyeing it for a while but kept being put off with statements such as "mile wide inch deep".

I wanted something like no man's sky but less cartoony. And not an excel document like eve.

So far I'm really enjoying it. I've had some veterans give me the odd tips. Got a cobra mk3 and slowly buffing it up. Mixing up the missions in and out of VR.

Made my way over to the Diaguandri system for the 15% off rates. Pledged allegiance to some dude.

Lots of things to work out. I'm playing with another noob and we would like to do things together.

However lots of things send you on on sprawling journeys e.g. the engineering levelling up. Want the option of teaming up when possible and not light years away.

Joy of joys i know have to go material gathering for experimental effect for deeplating and the Krait Thargoid killer is done...

It really is a stupid cumbersome system, how i had the patience before the material traders turned up i do not know.

I love elite and do sometimes play with friends. stuff like mining, exobiology (if you have the DLC) and combat / piracy zones work fine but other parts of the game don't work so well with a friend and you may be better off doing it on your own but chatting in discord etc

PS if you can try it in VR
 
Yes playing with Quest 2.

Got to say the sound effects and ambient music is what makes this game. Thr cracking of the afterburners as the ships makes steep banking turns. Wow

indeed you even said as much in your post. sorry. brain fail on my part

the fact elite didn't win an award for it's sound is shocking imo (iirc it came 2nd)

make sure you got your graphics setting set to "VR" (i use VR High)
makes a huge difference

im going to jump in now (on my pico 4) for some xeno action!

wish me luck !

WOW

im having a LOT of fun now

Killing loads of Scouts, just made 2.5m !

changed my firing settings to "Target" now i can kill :D

im learning now how to beat these unknown ships
great fun in VR


giving my head a break , before i jump back in
 
decided to see what these interceptors where all about
in my scout hunting ship

it survived, but my krait isnt strong enough, and i cant get a lock on long enough to scan one
good fun though
