I've not played this in about 3 years, but after the slightly disappointing news that No Mans Sky being delayed and Star Citizen not really going anywhere exciting for the time being, I need a Sci Fi fix. After a long long spell out, what you guys think? possible to get back into it? much changed?
Why not? new people join every day. changes are too many to list you'll have to log in and find out yourself. The game is in a much better state now thats for sure.

The pull back in...
I've never got further than starting the first chain of 'missions' after the tutorial. But for some weird reason, I'm feeling the pull back into this game...
I like the idea of exploring. I don't like the idea of jumping back on the character I spent 2 weeks on playing last time however, simply as I feel it will be a wasted venture. Even though there are a few ships on that character already.
Feeling torn, do I play or not? Do I just accept it's a phase and not play? My biggest gripe last time was that I loved it, but had no real view of what can and can't be done. I don't know what happens later in game, I don't know where I stand in the universe of EVE. The stupidly long process of getting into EVE Uni put me off that as well as I grew tired of waiting for them to contact me. Which will likely hinder any future applications.
I just want to find a newbie friendly corp, have some fun, maybe go exploring for rare loots and stuffs. Have fun.
Again, I could do this with any MMO so I've no idea why I've got that pull back to EVE Online
Yeh Eve Uni can be a pain to get into, got a friend trying to do so at the moment and he has been waiting on and off maybe 2 weeks to get the initial interview
Getting to the point where I might drag him into KICK despite it being less newbie friendly because atleast there are active helpful people around most if not all days. Might be worth looking at Pandemic Horde, they're pretty newbie friendly and whilst I don't think they provide tuition to the same level as Eve Uni they still do a decent amount. To my knowledge they're nowhere near as frustrating to apply to either.
I'd not necessarily be put off by reusing the old account, there are plenty of people who return after long absenses and get stuck in properly. Think you're only likely to have issues if you try applying immediately after resubbing - might end up with some hoops to jump through before being accepted. That said, if you only had a handful of T1 ships you probably won't miss out on much from starting a new character.
