Overheating? Plenty of venitaltion round your xbox?
What's going on, I'm afraid to say, is that your Xbox is showing signs of possible GPU or CPU failure. Strictly speaking, it's actually the connections beneath the chips themselves, but either way, it's likely about to break I'm afraid.

That was my first thought - the GPU, it's only a week old too, bought it brand new, return to shop or go through microsoft?
the xbox is really cold to touch, even after a couple of hours, it's using the jasper chipset.
Anyone had a play with this yet....?

It's crazy!!
i always found having the 360 on it's side was the way to go also have you installed disk 1 to the HDD as this not only cut's down the noise but also improves load times and reduces the risk of the disk getting damagedwell i'm back, and do i feel daft
I set it up and opened the disk tray (i hadn't bothered to check the disk prior), and i saw the problem straight away, the disk had scratched all way round the edge as i have the 360 stood up next to my pc desk when the missus is watching telly and i plug it into my HP monitor (HDMI), anyway after moving the 360 from the telly to my desk (i really need a longer HDMI lol), it had moved the disk causing it to scratch, anyway, he cleaned the disk, i had a go and it worked fine, so time will tell again.
