I have been playing again recently after giving my hands a rest, noticed the stock racing which is awesome, been having some seriously close races with people, very good addition to the online racing.

Anyone mind buying my tuning setup from the storefront? Not been designed with any thought but I just need the Entrepreneur achievement and I'm done with the game.

A search for pasty79 should find it and I'll happily gift the car (McLaren F1) it's designed for if anyone wants it. Just don't use my tuning setup if you want to go around corners. Thanks :)

Hi all,

Not having been a major driving fan, played some burnout and pgr sometimes.

I've gone and bought a wireless wheel and forza 3(today) - mainly for F12010

I've played some forza 3 - 30min - with pad atm but enjoying it. I have to admit im a total noob and using the assists to start with while i get used to the functions of F3. Ill start using the wheel when the GF isn't moaning at me :D

Top Gear and Forza Motorsport have signed a multi-year collaboration

Microsoft has announced that the Forza Motorsport 3 Ultimate Collection released in October will signify the start of a long-tem collaboration with the BBC's Top Gear show. The news will come as a blow to Sony and Polyphony digital who announced a similar deal to include the Top Gear test track and the recently revealed Stig's Challenges in upcoming racer Gran Turismo 5.

“Bringing together Top Gear and Forza Motorsport is a natural fit” The deal will also include the integration of "the Top Gear brand in future versions of Forza Motorsport products" and the deal will also "deliver a number of co-promotions that aim to give fans of both Forza Motorsport and Top Gear a unique opportunity to engage in both brands."

“Bringing together Top Gear and Forza Motorsport is a natural fit,” said Turn 10's Dan Greenawalt. “Top Gear is all about automotive passion and playing around with cars which is exactly what we deliver with Forza Motorsport games. We are looking forward to collaborating with their team to bring some of what they do so well on television to our game design process.”

Forza Motorsport 3 Ultimate Collection launches on 29 October and will provide access to "90 minutes of specially edited Top Gear TV content" and "Stig’s Garage Car Pack" featuring The Koenigsegg CCX, LEXUS LFA, and Mercedes Benz SLS-AMG, via Xbox Live.

Fans will get their first taste of the results of this collaboration with 90 minutes of specially edited Top Gear TV content plus access to the ‘Stig’s Garage Car Pack’, all downloadable exclusively through Xbox LIVE, as part of the new “Forza Motorsport 3 Ultimate Collection” available from this October.

"It's incredibly exciting to be teaming up with such a big name game,” said Andy Wilman, creative director at Top Gear. “I fear we'll have to be a bit more ambitious and a bit less rubbish when dealing with these chaps."

Robert Nashak, Executive Vice President, Digital Entertainment, BBC Worldwide commented, “We’re thrilled to be teaming up with such innovators in motorsport gaming as Microsoft, who share our enthusiasm and vision for the Top Gear brand on this platform. Forza Motorsport is already a great game and we’re sure the features we’ve created together, using the Top Gear brand, will really excite both fans of the show and the game everywhere.”

Thoughts? Could be interesting. Wonder if they will release the TG test track.

Comes with the Ultimate Edition of Forza 3 apparently.

I would assume it will be released as a DLC pack at some point circa the price of other packs.

I see that MS are being very "Innovative" in the motorsport gaming world with this deal surprised no one else has ever thought of doing this before :D
As for the top gear part, its a bit of a joke a few cars and a 90 minute video, you will only be able to get this if you buy the re-release with some other "free" DLC stuff, if you own the old game you wont be able to buy it from XBL, according to turn 10 this will be the only way to get it(at the moment lol).

Just been reading that, lolTurn10. :D

I did think the Stig pack of three cars was a bit extreme as a single pack.

EDIT: Hahaha, never thought of the reasonably priced DLC :D

It's really nice of them take the Lancia 037 Stradale from the Jalopnik community choice pack which they haven't delivered or spoken about since and make it exclusive to the Ultimate Edition.

Any tips for using a wheel?
Had mine today with the pedals, after about an hour+ and i'm nowhere near as quick.:(
I keep easily loosing the back end, especially on the brakes. (probably down the the increased grip from the accurate front now)

Should i try to alter my set-ups to compensate, or is it better to start with the slow ones and just learn?
I'm loving the feeling of the pedals and wheel but i don't want to be digging out the pad when i need a quick time. I want to be quick with it before GT5 comes out.

Some people put a tennis ball but in two under the brake pedal to give some artificial 'feel' to the brakes, It's easier to know from pressure when you are at max, rather then position.

Also, changing the cars 'tune' to put the brake bias fractionally forward may help.

My other tip is to reduce the steering saturation from 100 down to 65-70%, or whatever it's called, this reduces your lock to about 180 degrees, allowing quicker steering, something the pad gives you, but you retain enough precision around centre.

My actual braking is i think ok. Fine in a straight line, it's just when the front dips on brake-turn-in or if i brake while already turning and it's also hard to catch the slide.
Plenty of feel in the pedal and a vibration before lock-up. (Clubsport)
I'll give the bias and steering thing a go tomorrow and try to stop driving like i do with the pad.

Thanks.
