**** The Official Google Pixel 2/Pixel 2 XL Thread ****

Sorted...I was still enrolled in the Android Pie beta. As soon as I opted out I got the update!
Thanks for that tip. Just done the same, and the download started straight away! I'm sure I had previous updates whilst still enrolled in the Beta program. Oh well, it's sorted now.

Just been advised to get one of these, coming from a nexus 5x which bricked itself, I was going to try the Nokia 8 but was mentioned to get one of these instead,

I managed to do an EE upgrade via carphone warehouse - Pixel 2 XL - 64GB - 4gb data £28p/m £79.99 handset cost (which is what I would have paid near enough for repairing my Nexus 5x)

I am a little dissapointed to learn though the pixel 2 doesnt support wireless charging and no headphone jack? is there a splitter I can use for USB-C for headphones? is there any quality loss over wireless headphones?

Is there any other flaws/common problems i should know about this model ? what is the battery life like after 6 or 12 months on the Pixel 2 XL? my nexus 5x was terrible for battery, and just after 2 years of ownership it boot looped and wouldnt turn on.

Battery is best around. I can get a day and a half out and it's quick charger gets you 50% battery in about 20 mins.

No other flaws. Slight blue shift if you look at screen at an angle. Camera is still best around. You get a usb c to headphone dongle in the box. But Bluetooth wireless is the future.

Out the box the default colour scheme is a bit pastey. So you can change to boostered or saturated for more colour .

mine arrived this morning, pretty impressive, nice camera! just need a case and some screen protectors

How comes CFWH were charging £28.99 p/m EE upgrade £99.99 for the pixel 2 and £28.99 p/m EE upgrade £79.99 for the Pixel 2 XL

I went for the larger screen, i thought it would be the other way around lol.

A flaw with the headphone dongle which Google is no closer to fixing, it is my main gripe with the phone. Constantly cuts out, but if you are using Bluetooth you should have no issues.

Apart from that the software is nice & quick, The camera is awesome.

My battery life seems to be the usual full day. Although I am now on my third device, due to the issue above. So I can't comment fully on that.

USB C DAC broke again this morning. Third one in about 4 months.

Done with it now to be honest. The slow down is getting on my pip and I miss the standard 3.5 jack WAYYY more then I thought I would.

Is that the issue I described above? If so star here & give them a bug report: https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/115708451

Yep, basically the same except mine seem to stop working around 2 dyas after the dongle starts to cut out.

It's just not worth the effort or the money for me anymore, especially if the problem eventually follow through to the port itself and I have to get that replaced.

Imma miss stock android and that badass camera though :(

Is grabbing one of these for £500 worth it over a oneplus 6?
I would say yes. I'd probably keep my 2XL over a OP6. That being said that is brand new price? Would you try a used unit? You'd easily pick one up for £300-£350. Heck I'd sell you mine for £350 so I can go get a 3 :p

Funny you say that. I was all set for the 3XL this year but we all know how that went. I do have my sights set on the 6T, I hope it lives up to the hype.

I've gone for the 3XL lol. But yeah for me it's because the camera is on a different level.

6T was my backup choice in case the P3 camera was just a minor improvement, or the screen was bad etc.
