I've done everything by the book. I think the problem lies with the Navacom service which won't start, which is probably down to a conflict with s/w on my machine. Next I'll try on a fresh build with nothing loaded and see how I get on.

well mine came back today all repaired with a new case
thats quick, ive just had mine picked up today
they said they would fix mine, i took all personel info from it just incase
So I ghosted an old laptop (Inspiron 2600) with Windows XP SP3, no other software or drivers loaded, plugged in an ethernet cable, installed Java 7, and bingo, it worked.
Still can't stream iPlayer or BBC News, maybe down to the wifi connection, but there seems to be plenty of bandwidth. Played a local .mkv with Kalemsoft ok (using the version on Preware which isn't that good).
Happier...

Wish i got a 32gb version now even though the 16gb was cheaper and has a brighter screen, just incase windows 8 gets working on the touchpad next year.

Does anyone know how to switch Facebook accounts? I managed to switch to my girlfriends but now I can't switch back. In the accounts preferences it says the first account will be used but I've changed my account name to 'A' and it still doesn't change.
AFAIK no one has mentioned running Windows 8 on the Touchpad, and I wouldn't think it likely. And 16GB or 32GB wouldn't seems to matter that much even if it was running.

For extra storage perhaps, but that is always the case regardless of the OS.
Meh, I would just leave it as it is. Her friends are probably better than yours, you hang out on OcUK remember?
Am sure a cut down version can be made though, for example removing various drivers and things you wouldn't use on the tablet.... That would save a lot of space....

Go into settings*, device info, reset options, and then select full erase.
* Open launcher (the arrow on the front screen), select the settings tab.

Subjectively, a small amount, but even that is nice. I haven't pushed or used it enough yet to get a better quantative grasp of the increase. Also, I haven't noticed the battery taking a hit from the speed bump. Also important to install the other tweaks e.g. speed up animations, which make the device seem snappier.
