*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

Oooo battery life could be a bit of a stinker here... took it off charge at 4pm yesterday and it was asking for a charge at 10am this morning. Granted I'd used it a fair bit but still. Wondering whether its the widgets killing it.

From what i read, friends stream / some widgets kill the battery.

Syncs fine with my Windows7 64 set up. Once you've installed HTC Sync on the PC, you have to switch the Desire from USB disk mode to HTC Sync mode.

Same here Win7 x64, set the phone up in mass storage mode and install the software off the phone, then change it to sync mode and you're done.

Yeah figured as much, shall try setting the check frequency to a few hours instead and see how that pans out.

Install Advanced Task Manager, it's only 66p and is well worth it, basically every time you close an app it leaves processes running in the background, use this tool to shut them down every now and then to save a lot of battery power.

Have to admit i'm loving this phone, it really stands out in every single way...except one.

The app store is good but it's not quite there yet, but then again i knew this before buying the phone, and the cost of the contract (£20pm) compared to the stupidly expensive iphone contracts makes it worthwhile.

I'd like to see more established games companies making content, things like monkey island and final fantasy really stand out on the iphone, the android games just don't really compare. However i've got a 2 year contract and are confident that it'll happen within that timeframe.

Otherwise it's top class, not had one bit of lag and are giving it a good hammering.

Can it view activex websites? I have a ip webcam i check in with, just wondering if i will be able to do this for the desire?

hmmn, didn't realise o2 were getting the desire at the end of april. Is that totally confirmed? If that's the case i might hold on for a month cos i know where i stand with o2 reception wise. I hope that the deals aren't the same as the iphone ones, cos to be honest, they're pretty pants!

ah well T-mobile phoned me this morning about my internet order last night, apparently my credit score is low, god knows how that is as i have never missed a payment on anything! unless its due to adding the wife to my account and i know she is a lazy payer!

edit: just paid experian for full report and:

Your score of 999 puts you into the Excellent category

Your score is above average – 71% of people have a score lower than Excellent

Factors that are having a positive effect on your score
You make all your repayments on time and in full - no accounts have been paid late in the past six months
You are on the electoral roll (registered to vote) at your current address
You don't have any county court judgments and you have not been declared bankrupt in the last six years

Factors that are having a negative effect on your score
You have several credit agreements (excluding mortgages), and the outstanding balance is high (maybe its this???)

Bluetooth takes so much battery up, it's unreal.

Anyway the point I was getting at was that you can disable wireless/bluetooth/sync with that Widget which switches them on and off with 1 touch..... really useful.

My battery lasted from 4PM - 2AM with 40% or so remaining (had those features off except sync), but then I left bluetooth on over night and woke up with it dead :p

Finally got my app market working as well, so gonna research some apps that I might need (there is a thread with lots of useful ones for the Hero here somewhere)

Advanced task Killer does the same and is free ;)

HTC Desire is now delayed on T-mobile due to some kind of ROM issue. Won't be available for at least another couple of weeks now. Saw it on stock news at work yesterday, hopefully there'll be an update on the situation when I go in tomorrow.
