*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

i spoke to the o2 sales team this morning and said that the htc desire is still not on there new/incoming handset list. which sucks

It's on their systems definitley, I called retnetions up about a week or two ago.

I told them I was looking for a HTC Desire and the woman had to confirm what it was called, so she obviously has not heard of the handset.

So she scrolled through her system and eventually found it, telling me it was availabile from 29th April.

Going to give them a call now to see if they're bringing it forward.

Another quick one - after requesting my PAC from O2, how long does it take for them to give me it?

I believe they have to get it to you within two working days but don't quote me on that. There's an interesting artical on Wikipedia about PAC codes and the legal requirements for the operator in terms of turn around time.

However, it's bank holiday weekend tomorrow :)

I'm going to wait for O2 no matter what, really good customer service since I've joined and I currently enjoy a really good deal with them and I'm confident I can get them to keep me on 1200 texts, 600 minutes, unlimted data for £20 per month whilst paying ~£120-£150 for the phone.

Apparently O2 are brining forward the release date, I will call tomorrow and let you know.

Went into T-Mobile High Wycombe yesterday, chaps were playing football as it was near closing lol :p

Guy let me go behind counter and look at the screen he brought up, said phone would be delayed in store until 9th due to technical issues.

No delays here now with T-mobile :D, update yesterday to say the "stop ship" will be lifted. We're getting 3 delivered today here in Bath and more coming next week. Also got 3 X10's coming too.

Edit: just noticed posts about the fair use policy.

With T-mobile, while yes, there is indeed a fair use policy, if you go over that, there are NEVER any extra charges. You just get a warning text and then if you still hammer it, you get throttled at peak times from 4pm - 12 midnight. Outside those hours though, it's as normal.

Hmm. You're on a contract at the moment then? I've been on Simplicity £20 a month rolling for the past two years (that's the minutes I've also got), so they might not be too endeared to me?

anyone happen to know if "friends and family" account holders for t-mobile get offered better deals than "normal" customers ?

You mean friends and family of someone who works for T mobile? Read a post on here and yes they did, was something like half price, but don't quote me on that.
Same post also said that in the past if you got the discount and didn't leave t mobile, you kept the discount even if the person you knew quit T mobile. But now if the person you know leaves, you loose the discount, but again, don't quote me :)

Desire should arrive today ^_^ £26 a month, 24 months, 900 mins, 500 texts, unlimited internet and the phone free. Can obviously choose a booster each month for it. I don't mind the 24 month contract as i've had my c 902 for the past 2 years, and am only upgrading because itll cost the same as I've always paid :D

Nope, I'm on the iPhone simplicity 20, but the older one before they changed it to the 300 mins, unlimited texts.

I changed a couple of weeks ago and told them the new Simpicity 20 contract didn't suit me and that the old Simplicity 20 was the only thing keeping me interested with O2 and not going to T-Mobile who had the Desire.

So she put me on the old one, 600 mins, 1200 texts /w unlimited data.

Not sure if we'll have enough leverage to get a cheaper phone out of it though, T-Mobile's contracts seem far better value anyway. Think I'll just jump ship.

I'd keep it if i was you.

Keep it for a month and if they don't ask for it back, sell the bad boy :)

Yeah, I guess. I've had no charges for the extra handset........ yet.

Well, the thing is, I still want it on o2 because I'm not sure how good T-Mobile is in Bristol (Uni flat) as I'm currently at home for Easter.

I know o2 is fine because lots of people have iPhones at Uni, but not so sure about T-Mobile.

Should be fine, obviously UWE is a major location so mobile networks will do anything and everything to ensure good signal strengths.

Oh, my local T mobile store (stafford, so not the biggest place in the world) got them in their delivery today, despite saying they were delayed till next week.

So check your local T mobile store :)
