*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

My local t-mobile has em in stock but want 25 quid for the phone on a 600 min/500 text 18 month contract.

Considering ive just seen the same contract with free phone + ipod nano and £40 cash back (but phone not available till mid april) its a major brain ache!

We won't get them until Tues/Weds. I assume they are despatching today.

Yeah I figured that they'd be despatching today in order to get them in peoples hands for next Tues/Weds. I still don't have an email though, so maybe they won't be shipping today.

just to confirm...if i sign up say tomorrow to a new tmobile deal and get a new number can i then cancel my o2 account say next week and give the pac code to tmobile instore and get them to put the new number on my new phone/account?

i just reckon the o2 deals are going to be the same rip off ones they have for iphone, ie 300 mins for 35 quid a month! t-mobile seem so much cheaper!

Why don't you sync the tracks you want to avoid a massive data bill? According to the Spotify website you can sync 3,333 songs, which will far outlast the battery!

i already have 3000 odd tracks synced, but the reason for spotify is that i have more like 20000 tracks in the library on itunes, and i like to listen to stuff randomly so streaming is brilliant, pity it sounds like its a no go on vodafone.

Went in and picked mine up in store unannounced! Very happy thus far but a steep learning curve from a k800i !!

Internet is bloody fast too :)

Nice ninja edit, however you weren't quick enough for me....

Just getting used to the keypad?

That's upgrade and is pretty decent against online places, given that most companies are still rolling with Orange's old plans. I want to stay with Orange as I have six magic numbers and the loyalty discount already saved up.

So if you upgrade when on orange does the loyalty discount carry forward? At the moment I get £10 off a month under loyalty discount, would be very handy if it does! I am also wanting to keep my magic numbers, so I am in the same position as you. Have you heard anything about release day for orange? I have looked on the net and the 2nd seemed to pop up.

Iv got a iPhone and I'm looking to getting the desire !!!! Is it worth it ??? Anyone who come from an iPhone to the desire ???

Iv got a iPhone and I'm looking to getting the desire !!!! Is it worth it ??? Anyone who come from an iPhone to the desire ???

I've done this today, only had it for two hours but here's my verdict:

The Good
  • The phone is very fast, I don't get pauses sometimes like I did on the iPhone on certain games
  • The UI looks just as good as the iPhone's which is great as it was a concern of mine
  • The screen is mighty impressive, very clear and not that bad in day light
  • Mail etc was easy to setup

The not so good:
  • Camera isn't any better than the iPhone
  • Some of the applications are crap, sorry but anyone saying the market place is as good as the App Store is a liar or don't know what they're talking about

My gripe with the applications are:
  • Market place doesn't live search, the iPhone used to suggest items as you typed more of the keyword you were looking for. At the moment I'm not sure if apps exist, so I've got to submit my search, hit back and search again if nothing comes up.
  • Youtube application is crap, I can't seem to run this in the background either?
  • Music player sounds just as good as the iPhone, but the UI is no where near as good as the iPhones.
  • Where's things like Sky TV application, official eBay, National Rail?
  • Facebook application isn't anywhere near as good as the iPhone one.
  • Sky Football score centre - Google Scorecard is no where near as good and looks like a child wrote it!

I'm happy with the purchase, but those saying the Market place is as good as the App store and that the App store is full of useless applications are clearly wrong.

I know the Market place is growing and it's quite new in comparison to the App store so I'm confident this will change, but don't be fooled by other peoples wrong information :)

Guy let me go behind counter and look at the screen he brought up, said phone would be delayed in store until 9th due to technical issues.

Just picked mine up tonight from T-Mobile shop. They got 7 in this afternoon and expect them all gone by weekend.

anyone happen to know if "friends and family" account holders for t-mobile get offered better deals than "normal" customers ?

You dont tend to get better deals on the upgrade as you get a good discount on the line rental instead....

You mean friends and family of someone who works for T mobile? Read a post on here and yes they did, was something like half price, but don't quote me on that.
Same post also said that in the past if you got the discount and didn't leave t mobile, you kept the discount even if the person you knew quit T mobile. But now if the person you know leaves, you loose the discount, but again, don't quote me :)

Was my post. Friends and Family discount on T-Mobile allows employees to add people to T-Mobile (including existing T-Mob customers) and they get 1/2 price line rental.

It used to be for life i.e. even if the employee left T-Mob, the discount would still apply until you cancelled your contract but now it stops when the employee leaves T-Mob.

Thankfully I got itwhen I worked there 2000 - 2005 so I get the "life" discount :)

Meant I got the HTC Desire on 18 month contract (Flext 35 which is older plan) giving me £120 worth of calls/texts and unlimited internet for £17.50/month and £50 upgrade for handset (CPW wanted £80 for same)

Bah!

Had an email yesterday saying it is on its way but I've received nothing so will probably be waiting until next week unless I get a bit lucky and it turns up on Saturday.
