*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

Is anyone getting a pinkish tint to their amoled screen?

when I look up htc.com on my desire, its looking slightly more festive than what it does on my pc.

Just reading through a thread on xda devs, wishing that I had'nt bothered to look in there for apps lol.

I really don't get some of the things on this phone, like no SMS pop-up. I thought one of the main selling points of Android was apps could share data between them. So why can't the SMS app tell the OS that its received a new SMS and needs to apply an alert?

Do I not get an alert when I get an email pushed through?

Yeah it looks pink on the Desire compared to what you see on a pc. Don't know if that is intentional or not.

I have transferred by photo album to the Desire. I had them seperated into folders for organisation on my Pixon e.g. "New York", "Warsaw" etc, but the Desire has put them all together... Any way I can organise them

Install the HTC software that came with the phone (it's on the mem card) and connect the phone to your PC as a storage device.

Create a new folder on the same level as the DCIM folder and put a photo into it. A reboot may be required but you should now have a new album.

Any new albums can now be created using something like Astro File Manager.

HTC had a choice between colour accuracy and vibrancy when sourcing the screens it seems. They went for vibrancy, looks good for most apps, but isn't great for view photos :s Having said that there shouldn't be a tint to the display. AT&T Nexus Ones (Same display remember) are having similar issues, must be a bad batch. Call HTC if you really can't live with it.

You should get alerts in the top bar that display the first line of text as it comes in, after that just showing a message icon. The lock screen also shows you have a message, again including the first line.

If you want it to pop up at you try the marketplace. SMS pop up does the job for free IIRC :)

Wondered that. I just plugged it in as a USB drive but put my photos in the DCIM folder (likewise for music in the "MP3" folder)... Was thinking for a bit and wondered if I should put the folders in the "root" of the drive as you suggest to get this to work.

Will give it a try when I get a chance

Ta :)

Anyone found out yet how to increase the volume when listening through earphones? It's listenable, but it's far from the volume i'd like it.

Had a look on XDA but they only had a G1 hack.

Oh also guys, G1 casing fits perfectly :) My dad has a G1 and the default carry case thing fits perfect :)

Apparently there's a new update My update is currently 1.15.110. When i look for an update, the Desire doesn't find anything, but according to the HTC website there's one...

"From the Home Screen go to MENU> Settings> About Phone> Software information> Software number). The new software number after the update will be 1.15.405.4 for an HTC phone."

Oh,

One thing i'm very very nervous about is space on the phone for apps. I've installed about 10 apps and i've got 47mb left. I've had the phone for like 4 days and it's at this already????!!!!!????

I hope i'm not the only one who's like this?

My order still says "pending stock" as well. I sent them an email last week to try and get a more specific delivery date and they said week commencing 5th April i.e. next week. Other people have been told 6th/7th for delivery so this seems to be about right. Not long now, try and hang in there!
