*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

I have an Orange branded Desire. In order to remove the branding and be able to install custom ROMs, is it literally as simple as using the Unrevoked tool? Or is there more to it? I'm slowly coming round to the idea of being bothered..

This is what I did and it works well.

I'm a wuss and I did it. Therefore, anyone can do it :)

I just tried to install the Street View add-on and it keeps failing "installation unsuccessful" - running OD 4.0.15, anyone else had problems?

Oh, it's appearing in my complete list of installed applications, but I can't FC or clear data or such. Don't seem to have the ability to use it within maps either?

What bootloader version did you have? I can't find any useable (eg simpletons) guides for bootloader ver 0.92 with an SLCD screen.
Unrevoked 3.2 was lined up to be the simple solution for 0.92/SLCD (any bootloader/OS version/screen type for that matter) but due to a bug was withdrawn.

Ver 3.21 is in testing and should be released soon.

Big thanks to those who helped me earlier!

I settled on LeeDroid ROM, pretty slick :)

One question, any apps I bought before I installed the custom ROM, how do I update them now? As they do not register as 'downloaded' in the market.

All your purchased apps are tied to your Google account or the one you purchased them with. If they aren't in Downloads, then something is wrong :)

I flashed to LeeDroid earlier since I wanted Sense back and my Downloads worked fine :) - I used Appbrain to install all my stuff though.

It probably won't last any longer either unfortunately going by most tests I've seen on aftermarket batteries (including the fatter ones).

I'd watch it with aftermarket batteries - seen at least one guy reporting that one of the extended ones has wrecked his phone.

was not gonna get it myself, but thought i would post, out of interest how can a battery wreck the phone?
