*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

Yeah but The Desire is easily managed through Explorer itself, what extra does it do other than messaging?

I used to use it in the SE days but only because SE phones were not as easy to work with back then.

you can backup contacts, edit and merge (i know you can in gmail) take screen shots and do it all over wifi, have a play, this bit of software was amazing on the old SE phones and really handy to have when your phone is docked at work like me, i have sent a few txt's and did a little editing of contacts

I'm just using it for texting at the moment. All my other stuff is backed up to Google, not bothered about syncing and such but can see why other people might be.

For for texting/emailing and messaging in general I just Write out the message in Notepad, copy it then Send clipboard to phone and send directly!

I just find this way more convenient than having to run software to do something each time.

its good for mass distribution of txt as well, i doubt i will use it at home, just great to dock my phone at work on wifi and have the software on my desktop to do all my phone functions

Orange have finally given us non-rooting losers 2.2.

However I have to say the phone seems to perform worse? Handcent for example is very slow loading up sometimes, as though the phone is freezing?

The latest Facebook for Android app just keeps running in the background too and drains the battery completely. Had to uninstall the updates I got that frustrated with it.

Anyone else having similar issues?

How is this achievable? Do you need Chrome?

Sucky? I've had nothing but 100% satisfaction from it and I've been using it since Android 1.5!

Maybe you've just not got it set up just the way it should?

The clipboard aspect is only doable in the Firefox extension, Chrome only supports link sending.

Not true. I can highlight any text and send it to my phone using Chrome and it will copy to clipboard. If I wanted to do what you do then I could write my message in a text field, such as the quick post box, highlight it and then send it to my phone.

I downloaded Skype today, but it can't be installed to SD :(
I still keep running out of space which is really annoying!

Ah yes but that's within the browser, so you'd have to go to a forum, open a post reply boxm type your text in and then send via context menu.

What I am on about is just sending whatever is in the Windows text box bypassing the need for going to a forum reply box or anywhere else, that is what's unique to the Firefox version.

Er how do you do this in Chrome ??

Also, I dont seem to get on with C2P very well. 90% of the time the link doesnt come through or takes a LONG time.

Any ideas how to fix it ??

Just highlight text and then click the chrome to phone button. That's it!

No idea why it's taking a while to send stuff as everything I send comes though within a couple of seconds. Have you got the latest version?

So I'm CONSIDERING rooting my phone.

Would really like to retain Sense, or at least HTC's apps (like the mail app), achieve better battery life, and extra performance would be nice. Currently I'm on HTC's official Froyo 2.2.

Obviously stability/compatibility is a major thing for me, as when it comes to my phone I'm more along the lines of wanting it to 'just work'.

Do any of the modded ROMs out there really cater for what Im after, or do they all tend to have some slight issues or cater only to those willing to heavily tinker?
