Sound quality during a call ?

Two questions regarding the Desire if someone who has one could kindly help me out.

First question: Can anyone tell me what the sound quality is like during a call, is the sound loud and clear?

Second question: Can you use pinch and zoom on all the screens, say for email and internet.

I've got a hd2 at the moment and I'm not too impressed with the sound quality on it, when I'm speaking to someone during a call they seem very distant.
I'm thinking I might like the screen on the Desire as it's a little bit smaller than the hd2, thats a bit on the massive side I've decided :eek:

On the far left home page ive got my 'phone managment screen'
Widgets -> power control
shortcut -> battery
widget -> settings -> mobile network
As well as netcounter app

Lets me quickly turn stuff on/off that can drain the battery quickly, still finding uses for my other home screens :P

My far left screen is the same except I dont use the power control. I have individual widgets for each thing (BT, WiFi, GPS and mobile network) down the left side of the screen with the maps and market icons on the bottom right edge....

Works well :)

^ thanks!

another problem - i can't connect to download any new widgets / programs etc. everytime i press 'get more htc widgets' i just get a message saying 'unable to download widgets tap to try again'...any ideas? i'm only on wifi at the moment if that makes any difference??

I have just tried that on mine and I get the same thing... must be an option for when HTC have more of their own future widgets etc availablee?

Works fine on mine... Only has 1 more widget tho "Back in the Day" which is events on todays date in the past...

My weather widget is playing up AGAIN!

It now thinks I'm in Drayton......which is about 5 miles down the road.....

It works on cell sites if you dont have GPS activated and near window etc to get satellite signal.

Seriously tho, unless where you are has its own micro-climate, getting the weather for 5 miles away ?? Thats a prob ??

Not sure if this has been mentioned or not (this thread gets updated too quickly :) )

Anyway, just got off the phone with Vodafone (again) and they are now saying stock is arriving tomorrow.

Sorted out my tariff today, so should have it by early next week.

the weather on mine is a bit messed up as well, also picking up location 4/5miles from where I actually an. when I'm at home the location doesn't show the weather for it(says no data downloaded, regardless of how many times I hit the refresh button), at work it shows the weather ok(tho as I said it's for location 4-5miles away, on tuesday in the morning it said one place then when I went for lunch it changed).

google map is picking up my location fine but the weather app and trapster(but this seems to keep force closing with couple mins of opening, even after the update today) are picking up another location, not tried other apps at the moment.

I can confirm that its loud and clear during calls.

Pinch and zoom works fine in the browser. Its not needed in the gmail app, not sure about the mail app as I haven't used it.

thanks for the reply, I'm realy tempted to splash out on one, I've been a little dissapointed with my hd2, I'm thinking if I take the plunge now I should still get a fair poce for the hd2 as its only six weeks old.

for anyone ordering on MPD my sim came after the phone, but i was never told this, so im all sorted now, its an unlocked phone which is nice,

im now after a case!

i cant find any decent ones

talking of memory cards, I'm looking at a 16gb card(think the 32gb is a bit too expensive at the moment, well unless you take a risk on cheap generic ones from eBay). if I was replace the 4gb card that came with the phone, will I have issues with apps that access card? is it just a case of copying the folders onto the new card or will I need to uninstall/reinstall those apps?
