*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

Mine came last night. Well impressed so far :)

I've had a iPhone 3g for the last 18 months and the change is immense. Probably just me not keeping upto speed on what some of the better iphone apps can do - but this feels light years ahead

The camera looks amazing on screen in comparison. Also, I've set up google turn by turn and cant believe how much it makes me feel like jack bauer :)

Driving along seeing overhead satalite images of my route, and then press a button to see the next turn - only to be greeted by a fully bonified street view image with a big arrow going through it. It even followed me around when I went into Aldi, showing my GPS marker on top of the building accurately when I went to different parts of the building. And back in the car park, the arrow was in the same parking space on the satalite view as I was parked in. Immense! Didnt know that existed

Havent actually used it as a phone yet :D

Anyone have any recommendations for a case?

I am concerned with scratching the screen since i carry my phone in my pocket.

Those after a case its rumoured HTC are selling official Nexus One accessories, including a neoprene soft case directly (The one that came with the Nexus, google it :) ) Given that they're the same dimensions this would fit nicely, and its got an Android printed on it :D

I picked up my desire earlier, I can't believe how fast this phone is in comparison to my old magic, and I love HTC sense, serious improvement over stock android.
Haven't noticed the pink tint issue thing, thankfully. Seriously though, amazing handset :)

So I was delivered two phones originally.

Now, I packaged the first phone up today and sent it back because I want it on O2 instead (3G signal in my area isn't that great).

The second one I received my invoice finally, after 8 days of it being delivered :S - so I go to e-mail T-Mobile about returning it since I don't want to be stuck in a contract. This is the reply I just got :o

Hi,

Thanks for your email about the second phone you have received.

There has only been one phone sent to you. It would seem you have possibly sent the first phone you received back to yourself as we have not received this back? Did you fill out your details on the bag?

I have ordered another returns bag for you with you will receive in the next few days.

Thanks again for your email ***** and I hope this resolves your query.

What kind of business are they if they can't keep track of stock :p

I think you win.

Your the only one to get a BOGOF on the new HTC Desire ;)

I bet you wished you hadn't said anything now.

Right I am looking to get this phone but I have a question about the internet usage for different companies.

Vodafone seem to have a 500mb limit, is that enough for this type of phone or will i need more?
Virgin mobile seem to have unlimited internet as well, and I've never been charged more with O2.

Which is best to go for, I don't really want any unexpected charges at the end of the month

Oh bloody hell, i just saw a few thread down!
Ah well, I will wait for O2 and see what they offer and see if I can get a good deal from them (very unlikely)

Where did you get T-Mobile limit of 500MB? T-Mobile give 3GB fair use when on contract, 1GB fair use otherwise.

How about a fiio e3/e5 headphone amp, I use it with my phone to drive my phones better and save battery life?

That's a brilliant idea. Does this increase the volume at all? Do you have a link?

As for 500mb, personally i don't think this is enough. I stream a lot of internet radio (last.fm) and i can see me going over that no problem at all.

i put a screen film protector thing on mine but i don't think i did it very well as it's a bit 'hazy' in some spots. Are they easy to just rip off and put a new one on?

Really liking the phone... glad I got a sim free in the end as there is possibility of job uncertainty in the future, so I'll be able to go pay as you go which is nice.

3 things I hope they release soon... a desktop dock. This would be awesome and have recently noticed whilst browsing through the settings, a dock settings option, so maybe this is something that is already in the works? Be nice to make use of the desktop clock too as it is a nice feature just a bit pointless without the dock... an in car window/vent mount would be great too, along with a nice case!

This is exactly what I'm after. I read on xda, US guys are phoning up and HTC are sending out replacement cases for their Nexus One's free of charge. Couldn't find anywhere to buy them though yet :(

LOL you think thats bad...about a yr ago i ordered the new Blackberry Storm on a new contract...after a few days i didnt like it so rung up for a returns etc. Anyhow this was during xmas...i got the bag etc etc and sent the phone back.

I rung up after xmas and they said they received no phone??!!!...even though i had the tracking number...turns out their warehouse had lost the phone...took me nearly 3 mths to get it sorted out before they finally admitted that it was their fault:rolleyes:

Well day number 3 now since I emailed MPD about the major screw up they have done and they still have not read my email.

Heres the thing...why dont you pick up the phone and ring them??...i mean i rung them the other day and they were more than happy to answer my questions...failing that try the live chat on their website.

Live chat isnt showing as available on their site, hasnt done for 2 days. Will be calling them up in a moment though as it does seem like the only viable way of getting in contact with them.

You'd expect atleast a reply to an email sent 9 days ago, but they havent even read it.

EDIT: Just called the number on their website, option 2 for customer support.. got cut off twice!

Probably because they are busy but still no excuse for poor customer service though.
