Thanks Mossy. I tried that number earlier and got some woman who wasn't that helpful. "I can't really help much, try HTC Accessories website etc etc". I think she was more interested in her customer satisfaction survey! :rolleyes:

I've seen a youtube video regarding this, but I can't seem to do it myself....

Disabling HTC Sense

Is this possible, and how is it done. I'm used to plain Android 1.5 on my G1 and would love to see how the plain Android 2.1 OS looks on my Desire.
 
:mad: rang htc..are not able to supply nexus case seperately as i don't have have one..would need imei number etc if i'd lost/didn't receive one..may list on their website eventually but doubtful ..boo hoo!!

Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > HTC Sense > Clear Defaults & Force Stop.

Is that what you tried?

Hi,

Can't remember the way to do it on my Hero and it might be different on the desire. But there is a free program on the market that does this really easily.

Download Home Switcher and you can switch between the 2 and then you can tell it which of the 2 you want to make the default.

It still ships from Hong Kong :p the thing at the bottom says it takes 5-10 days. I might order one later to see what they're like, though I have only jusy signed up to eBay, so I need PayPal to hurry up and do my bank account thing :(
 
I phoned Vodafone at lunch and was told that I could upgrade my handset to the Desire using one of two options.

My contract expires November so I could wait until September before I'm able to get a free upgrade to it by which time other Android handsets will also be out.

Or

Pay the remaining fee of my contract (£117) and then be eligible for the handset upgrade so basically renewing my contract early.

I think I can hang on 5 more months to see what handsets come out over the summer! Although if the Desire update that enables 720p comes sooner rather than later then I may well jump on the early renewal!

Sat with it on charge on my desk, it had reached 100% and the green light had come on. However, just noticed the green light was still on, but the charge was going down - presume this is normal? I unplugged and replugged cable and light went orange, it started charging.
 
Hmm some further thinking later and I think I can fetch £150~ for my HTC Magic sold as rooted on eBay all boxed and that alone will pay for the early termination and upgrade to the desire.

What to do!

thanks shine..will look.. i ordered a mofi and a nice pdair leather one ..both came today..thinking i want the neoprene so both available if anyones' intereste?..(note the pdair fits the nexus one so should fit desire, both boxed/brand new obviously) fiver for the mofi and £15 for the pdair (rrp £25) and will post for free........:)

I sold my BB Storm2 the other day for £300 so am using that to pay the £144 for the phone on a £10pm 24mth contract with Tmobile...also reduced my voda contract that i had with my Magic to £15 so will let it just run out....runs till may next yr:(...
 
I'd rather stick with vodafone as I really like their 3G performance (I tether from time to time) and their customer service so I'll bung the Magic on ebay later on I think!
 
That will only work on the Hero as the Hero has the stock launcher installed with the Sense launcher overlaying it.

The desire only has the Sense launcher.

Await for full modding support before it can be completely disabled I guess.

I think I'll go for it, I've put my magic on the Bay and I just read DivX support (as well as 720p) is coming in an update so all looking great!
