*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

After getting it almost accidentally last year and then needing to claim on it, I'll be getting insurance as soon as it arrives.

I've been recommended talkcover @ £64.72 for the year. I also saw that quote, seems ok but haven't used them before. Their excess ranges from £100 to £50 depending when you claim though.
Ahh i hadn't considered an excess! Id be pretty annoyed after paying for the year if i had to pay 100 to claim in my first few months -.-

Plus you only get covered up to £400 for the phone...so your pretty much buggered if your phone is worth more than that.

Again, can't find this in the thread already. SMS from Egg appeared as from a contact on Facebook with stupid text written in their phone number field. There's a thread on xda-developers with no solution other than to delete the contact from Facebook. Any other tips, anyone seen this?

Hmm I got something similar to this.

The subject was along the lines of one my texts not being sent successfully to someone, but it came from one of my Facebook contacts

I can't believe how much T mobile have added on to there contracts cheeky little **** still I supppose they mustbe selling enough of them!

Yeah I'm glad I upgraded as soon as they were released rather than waiting as I'd originally planned.

Hi. I'm still having trouble
I did a factory reset and changed the sim option to 'postpay' from 'pre-pay' and I still get the error 'your sim does not allow a connection to this network'

also it doesn't seem to be recognising my sd card even though one is in the phone :S

help!

Worth calling them.

I'l say something alon the lines of going to order this weekend, but when I got around to it on Tues/Wed everything had gone up a ridiculous amount. Was going to order there and then and still will if they match those prices, otherwise will go to Orange with offer 'X'.

Seems to be the case as everytime they come into stock they are flying out the door again...from what the guy told me at tmobile...this phone is selling like hotcakes...one the most popular phones they have had in awhile now.

Dont blame them for changing their tariffs...god knows they lost a fair bit of money off me when i bought my phone and tariff from tmobile.

See post #1541. I had all my Facebook contacts imported and some has stupid things like "07 mmm yeah right, like I would give it out".

Did what was in my post #1541 and not had an issue.

Just accidentally turned it on whilst charging. Screen seems quite pinky. Just had a google and found this is a problem on the Desire and Nexus. Seems what people have found it:

* It is like that because of the technology used in the screen
* It will eventually look less pink the more the screen is used
* It will be fixed in a future software update
* People are sending their Desire back for a replacement

I switched it off as soon as it booted to let it charge fully for the first time. What does everyone else think? Anyone else got a pinky screen?

They are all hidden already, but it seems this one was linked to a contact. I've checked my Facebook phonebook (http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/mobile/?phonebook=) and none of the others are linked to contacts, should be fine from now on hopefully...

Ah so it's done via a gold card method, not by rooting the phone itself - so I was still partially right and only the generic rom at present. I'd rather flash with a rom that adds benefit like Cyanogen's roms and allows me to have a custom recovery instead of the stock one and since Vodafone's handset doesn't seem to be as heavily branded logo/icons wise I shall stick with that until full root is available!

The goldcard method would be highly useful for reselling the phone I guess but that time is a long way away by which point root will be the norm ¬_¬
