If there was a dead pixel (not sure if this is possible with amoled) i'd return it, so with a pinkish tint i'd do the same.

If you buy something that's not how it should be then why should you put up with it? I'd certainly not. ;)

Depends...

If you want to play with the phone before you buy, in store.

If you want to be able to return it after 14 days, then buy online, as you're covered by the distance selling act.
 
Cheapest deal I can find on this phone is from T-Mobile for £15 p/m 18 months 100 minutes unlimited texts and £226 for the phone which works out at £496.

Anyone found anything better?

Just got home and saw the royal mail bag....woot...ripped it open and geez the box is small:eek:

But have to say first impressions of it are wow just absolutely wow...much better in real life than in the pics that ive seen...even the dummy model i saw at cpw the other day didnt really wow me....but the real thing is very nice.

Havent had a chance to set it up yet but the battery cover is a pain in the backside to remove lol...it does come with a 4gb sd card already installed in the slot.

So far so good...have put it on charge so will let it charge properly before i go about setting it up but build quality is amazing.
 
Ok, pink tint is not even noticeable now. My fiancee could not see anything and she would certainly say if she thought something was a miss. I can't even see it anymore.

I have to say that the phone is amazing! It is so slick, websites load 10th times faster than my magic, the screen is unbelievably good, you can do things while apps download and install which was near impossible on my magic... I just can't get over how good it is!

Just having turned mine on...i havent seen this dreaded pinkish tint to the phone...i went to the htc website via the phone and **** me this phone is blazing fast...geez i thought my BB 9700 was fast but this thing just pummels the daylights out of my BB lol.

Anyhow the pinkish tint...what other websites were u able to see it on??...havent set up my gmail account on it yet.

But this phone is simply awesome...soo damn quick at everything it does:p...just put it on charge then im going to set it up properly to how i want it.
 
When you're on a call and take the phone away from your ear, say to enter a number, the screen switches itself on. When you put it back up to your ear, the screen switches off.

Mega cool, just wondering how it does it work? It can't be a front facing camera as it doesn't have one and it can't be the pressure of my head as it still works even if I don't have it physically touching my head.

Its a proximity sensor;)...it senses when your ear or head is close...turns the screen off so that you dont accidentally press any buttons etc...when you move your head away, the sensor turns the screen back on;).

I had the same thing with my BB Storm2 before i sold it to fund my Desire.

great heads up, just got the full body shield for my desire for $19.49 so about £12.70 including 1st class post :D
