*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

When you're on a call and take the phone away from your ear, say to enter a number, the screen switches itself on. When you put it back up to your ear, the screen switches off.

Mega cool, just wondering how it does it work? It can't be a front facing camera as it doesn't have one and it can't be the pressure of my head as it still works even if I don't have it physically touching my head.

Top left of the phone is a sensor, you can see it when you tilt the phone slightly :)

It's a very cool feature, i also like how it lowers the ring volume when you pick up the handset.

Spawn - Everyone that has used the phone tell me it loads faster than their pc lol.

It really is the best phone i have used.

spawn compare the htc on the phone with on your pc screen, you should be able to tell the difference :)

as I mentioned before, I've also noticed it on the quick reply box on here plus on the o2 website. there are others but I can't remember right now which they are.

Man you lot and your awesome experiences are making my jealousy meter overload!

Not for long though I tell you, NOT FOR LONG!

Also, the desire in my grasp means I no longer need a netbook or "notbook" as some people call the 13" "netbooks" - I have no doubts web browsing is as fast as everyone says and when Flash 10.1 is out everything will be resolved Flash wise :D

Your mms settings may be incorrect, check your APN settings are correct for orange and that you are MMS activated (usually needs activating with a call to the network op).

It is...mines still charging but i couldnt resist turning it and loading up some webpages...freakin fast this thing:eek:...its a thing of beauty really...i love my BB's but HTC really know how to make a beautiful handset....BB and other phone manufacturers should really take a leaf out of HTC's book and even at £400 sim free...its amazing value when the HD2 still sells for over £500 :/.

But ill be using both my BB and the Desire side by side...the 9700 for me is my workhorse device whereas the Desire will probably fill in for the multimedia side of things.

LOL...sell that Magic boi and get onto the Desire bandwagon...otherwise your gonna be left behind:D...whooshhhhhhhhhhhhh the sound of the Desire blasting by your Magic;):p

Mine has supposedly been posted and will be here Thursday. I won't hold my breath though. :p

On orange, btw, rang them up and got the exact same deal T-Mobile offered, but with £20 off the phone price (although I don't get as high data usage). T-Mobile rejected the credit check, so it has to be either Orange or 3, and I think that's an easy choice.

Indeed, I really have to look for it now and it just isn't an issue (I honestly didn't think I would be saying that about 6 hours ago!).

Ive boxed mine up ready to send back to MPD as i want to go with vodaphone retentions deal instead.

I'm back on my Omnia now and can't imagine how i even used this shoddy excuse for a phone for 18months

I miss my Desire already.

**** ARGH the price has gone up to £190 + £20*180 for the 18 month Tmobile contract rather than the £130 it was before :(

Phoned up and it changed yesterday and will be the same for a month apparently :(

proper annoying as I have enough money but had to wait until my student loan had come out (less rent this term and placement starting in summer so I have enough to buy the phone).

Got the loan on sunday but the price went up yesterday :(

Might go into town and see if they've changed their shop prices yet..

Just been on the phone to tmobile and got it for £99, 300mins unlimited text/net £15pm for 24 months, was the same deal i ordered last week but seemed to have dissapeared. Just got in the house and find a delivery note from rm, guess what that was:(

Posting from my desire.

I have a question - is there a way to not have all the Facebook contacts imported when I sync?

It's a pain having to prove to some of the stubborn Iphone owners that the Desire is far superior- can't wait till its broadcasted nationwide in the media that the Iphone killer has finally arrived!:D:D:D
