And to owners of this phone? does this phone do auto correct (mainly looking for it in sms if not throughout the phone) or does it just suggest words if you type something wrong. Got a Samsing i8910 HD and it has served me very well, but looking to jump onto an android phone now.

Got my Desire on tuesday, loving it so far - cracking service from Vodafone too, upgraded me 5 months early at no cost :D

One issue I'm having is the battery life - I'm barely getting a day's usage from it - that's with mixed use, texts/emails, couple of calls, maybe a little bit of web browsing - is there anything else I can do to lengthen battery life? I'm using Advanced Task Killer to cut off all the apps i'm not using.

Since being able to upgrade i've been looking this phone, just got a txt from orange to tell me they have had stock in (got told by the orange rep they have had 8,000 units delivered!!!)

So i have it being sent to me for delivery on Monday :-)

May improve after a few full discharge - recharge cycles, but im getting about the same, had my desire since end of march.

Ouch. Looks like I'll be investing in a car charger too then. I work long hours and can't have my phone at work, so hopefully I won't need to re-charge it too often. Perhaps a second battery is in order too, just in case :)
 
the sandisk 16gb class 2 microsd came today(not opened yet as I've just got home from work), going to transfer the files from the 4gb currently in the phone to the new card and hope it all works ok. going to be able to transfer my music, audio books and podcasts onto the phone now.

just waiting on the screen protector, case and desk cradle(appetently comes with an extra battery free) to be delivered. still thinking on what to do about the car charger, with the extra battery should be ok on most occassions but might be a time when both are low/dead.

to the guy who asked if I ordered the screen protectors off the htc site(was a couple pages back and I'm lazy to check the name :) ), i ordered from the famous site begining with p ;) it's £4.99 on there compared the £10 something after delivery on the htc site(and most other sites).

Which cradle did you buy? I'm looking for one that'll also charge my secondary battery as well as the handset, but can't find anything in stock.

was off ebay, have menioned the item number last night. don't have to hand right now but will check and post it back on here, only thing is there was only 1 left after I ordered so may have sold out(I was tempted to order both but didn't want to risk ending up with 2 non-working docks).

I don't know how it happened but when I came to ring my mum about 4pm I found that the favourite contacts thing on the screen to the right of the main home screen was gone, it was there this morning when I used it this morning about 9.45am. any ideas how I re-add it?

On a clear screen

click the "+" icon
click "widget"
click "people"
select style you want
then select the list you want to display ie favourites, VIP etc etc
press select
 
thanks for that felix, I've got the favorites box back.

got an email from the seller I got the case from(well the'r shop, morpethmobiles), apperently there was an error with the system when my order was taken and they wouldn't have the case for 2/3weeks. if that is the case(pun intended) why hasn't the seller ended the listing(still showing as 1 left of the 20 they were selling)?

burnsy the item number for the cradle I got is 360252781792, but as I said it's ended. it's on their website but down as the nexus one cradle without the 'free battery'(have to pay ~£10 to get the battery).

I've downloaded the map[brut] for the google navigation, just need to test it out to see how well it works.
