*** The Official HTC One M8 Thread ***

Got one these yesterday in gunmetal grey. Upgrade from the one x.
Does anyone know of launcher that allows you to hide app label in home screen and have folders in the app draw.

After some googling people are saying Go Launcher EX. Ive been messing about with it for ages and they seem to have removed the option to hide home screen labels (there's guides on google but there older version)

I cant believe its not a stock feature now by now!

Phone is absolutely rapid, its very responsive! Camera is also loads better than the one x.

Thanks.

I'm intrigued to hear the answer to this! Sold my note last night and am after a replacement!

Currently using a 4s backup phone from the drawer of phones, but am thinking of going back to (wait for it) a Nexus 5, or the M8. The note just is too big for me, the s4 that my sister has feels cheap and nasty (and it lags) and I just want something smaller than the N3.

Or I could go for an iphone 5s...... ;)

Hi, exact same for me, i replaced my note 3 with the htc one m8, as i did find it big, it was ok most times, just that times when needed to use one hand to quickly send a message or reply

i had the m8 for over week now, and love the build and feels easy to use from one hand and the people who say its big, its not for me actually feels small maybe as i was used to the note 3

also wanted to get away from touchwiz, sense is so fast and smooth !

Got mine last night from a local guy, he'd had it a day and decided on a 5S instead as he didn't like the size :D

Picked it up for £440 and it was as new so I def can't complain ;)

Was a 'downgrade' from a Note3 as such as I wanted more of a 'normal' phone and this def does the job! Loving it, def a keeper

PS - Gunmetal Grey is DEF the coliur to have, lovely

Robbo: how many phones have you had recently? More than me? :D.

I've not had many lately, been using the iPhone 5. I didn't like the S4 enough to switch to it and the iPhone 5S isn't much of an upgrade.

The M8 is epic though, good lord.

Break that bond you have! You can always go back ;) While the n3 screen looks lovely I don't think the average IPS/slcd panel looks bad these days! So much so I'm currently debating this phone, the 5s, another nexus 5 or lord knows :p:o

My Dad has the M7, one of the best LCD panels available. It just doesn't do it for me, I'm an Owl and need pitch blacks :D

I would however consider an LCD screen if the rest of the phone was nigh on perfect.

I tend to watch a lot of media in bed with the lights off, this is where I miss oLed displays the most, you can tell right away the blacks just arn't black, one of the main reasons I was hoping Samsung would bring something better with the S5.

Haha. What aspect would you say that really makes the phone? Is it the design and build more than anything?

That's certainly a large part of it. It just feels like a complete package in every sense (no pun intended :p).

The build is superb as you'd expect, and the screen is as good as any I've seen. I'm happy on OLED or IPS, the S5 screen is great too.

I think they've got pretty much everything spot on. The camera seems to be producing comparable/better pictures than the iPhone 5, and the depth of field effect can be very good. I think fitting what is basically a clone of the iPhone 5S camera would have been a better idea, but so far (from limited testing) I don't see it as a reason to not buy the phone.
