*** The Official HTC One M8 Thread ***

Just got one of these, quite liking it but keen to try the gpe rom. Anyone got a good step by step guide on how to root and install the gpe rom?

Anyone who has rooted and submitted a token via htc dev site help me out, have submitted three times over past four days with no Unlock_code.bin mail showing up.

I'm using gmail with no filters and despite checking spam etc I cant seem to get it, what mail providers did you use ?
 
Well I sold mine already. The camera was just too poor. I don't use a dedicated camera, don't want to, so it was a deal breaker. It washed out in bright light and refused to focus through the glass of my snakes' vivarium, something every other phone I ever owned has done without issue. Trying to take a photo just made me resort to swearing a lot more often than not so I just got rid.

Gmail, worked fine here a couple of times.

I thought everyone knew the camera was not this phones strong point??

However, for casual snaps its plenty good enough I'm sure. Who needs a pro grade camera on their phone?

If I was in the market for a new phone, I'd still go for the M8.

I don't want a pro camera, just one that's good enough for my use, this one wasn't I knew it wasn't great when I got it but people also said it was good enough for general use.

As I said, it wouldn't even focus through the glass enclosure, something every single previous phone has done without me even thinking about it. I'm sure it's the second 'depth' camera causing it.
 
One of my mates just got one of these. His HTC One broke so they sent a refurbished M8 as a replacement.

Deliberate, apparently, so kudos to HTC. That's some slick customer service right there.

My Android Wear watch helped it A LOT but it isn't the best at times! Will get you through a day though...just about...if you use it a decent amount of time.

I no longer have mines though :p Z3 Compact for me now.
 
Anyone else having trouble with their M8 not recognising the sim card? Mine's been getting worse and worse and now I can only get cell service about once a day.

Tried air dusting the sim slot, cleaning the sim and put a different sim in there and still no joy.

Gonna take it back to Three I think. Very annoying.
