*** The Official HTC One M8 Thread ***

I thought it was £290 all in?

Breif read on the hotukdeals page it depends on the salesman, some seem to be selling it at 289 including the tenner topup, others can buy just the phone at 289, while the last collective you can only purchase for the 289 and a further £10 for the top up, so the £300 total.

Doesnt feel great when a store can't agree on a standard deal national.

Bleurgh, my GPE-converted M8 is now suffering from high Android OS and Google Services battery drain. Have uninstalled a load of apps and tried to turn a fair few things off but it's still doing it. Very annoying... may have to do a factory reset.

Try clearing the data from the Google Play Services app and reboot the phone, should cure the issue.

I did this on my old Nexus 5 and a customer came in with a LG G Flex with a similar thing and they later told me it was fine.

Go into recovery and clear the cache partition, that usually sorts it.

I must say after having converted to GPE lollipop I'm not that impressed, it's snappy and all but I miss the vanilla HTC browser, and Google hangouts and Google calendar is utter rubbish.
I'm tempted to go back to a custom version of HTC sense.

I have to say the battery on the M8 is amazing! Having come from a Nexus 5 where I was routinely down to sub-30% at the end of a day, now I'm rarely under 70% at the end of the day! :D

This is the reason I have ordered one from Vodafone to try to switch from my Nexus 5. They have a 14 day returns period so I will see if it's worth it.

So I'm thinking about picking one of these (or the M7) up. Is it still a good phone?

Most phones these days do the job tbh, but it's still HTC's flagship phone for a couple more months
