*** The Official HTC One M8 Thread ***

Lollipop seems to be very buggy. Can't access my online banking using WiFi. Can access using mobile data (yes I've reset my router). Also random web pages won't connect.
Gonna do a full factory reset and see what happens .

Factory reset number 2 underway. When you reset the phone a new screen appears saying 'updating apps'. Then after a couple of minutes the phone reboots as normal.

When i updated it did "The Android is Updating" with 290 apps or something without me having to manually do a factory reset. Should I do a manual one as well?

Updated mine last night and generally happy with it so far ... took a long time to update though particularly the "optimising applications" bit ....

Annoying bit at the moment is that I have a couple things which I want in the notification bar once I'm unlocked but don't want to have as a notification on the lock screen ... but it would appear that if you turn off the lock screen notification for the app it stops it from being on the bar too ...?

Any update?

well first full day and I have 26% left which is probably somewhere in the middle of what I averaged before. I've had plenty of days before where I've had 40%+ left so will take more time to see if it has changed.

Speed wise, I notice the odd micro amount of lag now and again (maybe I'm looking for it) but at the same time it seems faster is many ways. I've noticed that if I don't close apps, it's very fast in re-opening them. I've never bothered monitoring RAM on this so maybe I should just let the phone manage things rather than closing them myself.

Overall, it's pretty much meh. It doesn't doesn't look any different, I just don't like the 2-stage pull down menu, not that it's a big problem

might just have to see if I can free up that extra 1GB of phone storage at some point

That's just from clearing the app cache. A factory reset should restore the phone to defaults (remove apps and app data).

On the whole can anyone identify any improvements since the update??

All it's done for me is change features that I liked to work in a way I don't! :(

Looks a bit more bland too imo - was hoping the HTC "skinned" version of Lollipop would be a bit nicer!!

No improvements that i've noticed. The app carousel looks nice, but i preferred the old 9-app thing. There is some lag in unlocking the phone half the time.

As this is HTC we're talking about, the user interface is built on HTC Sense 6. A newer version of the custom interface, to be called HTC Sense 7, is in the works, though not expected for a while.

Yes, this version of Lollipop is really just to silence the critics. They got it out ASAP and will be releasing a newer version with the M9.

Just realised if you press your multi app button then the 3 dot icon at the top, you can change from card view to grid view and it's just how it was before including close all. Phew!
