***The Official HTC Sensation thread***

I started following the steps to perma-root my phone. I got an error message when I tried to apply the su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed.zip. The error message is:

Installation aborted

:( Is there a more up-to-date perma-root file that I need or is this happening because I've already done this a long time ago?

EDIT: Why do I ALWAYS find the answer myself once I've ruddy posted on OcUK?! :D Saw a troubleshooting link, clicked it and it said try again 3 times in total; sometimes it works or try flashing another file first and THEN the original file. Well I ran the zip again and it worked! Onto SuperCID now. :)

Cheers. I've got the updated firmware and the ROM on my SD card. Do I need to use the Superwipe mentioned here?

- For v5.1.5 Super-Wipe is MANDATORY, not optional!

Does that mean just for v5.1.5 or from v5.1.5 ONWARDS Super-Wipe is mandatory? :confused:

id run it to be safe, your not going to cause any damage by not running it however, but it seems to run fine at that speed too :)

OK, makes sense. I already have a SuperWipe file on my phone but I'm not sure what version it is. I think I've found either a or the SuperWipe thread on XDA so I'm going to download the file linked here.
 
Use superwipe the first time you install Darkforest. It's included in the installer and won't be needed on updates afterwards.

When you run the Darkforest zip. It opens Aroma installer, this takes you through several stages to set the Rom how you want before the actual install. The first being the option to superwipe.
 
I did. I ran the check afterwards that is meant to return the new cid of 11111111 and that worked.

This is the entire text in the android-info.txt from the PG58IMG.zip on my phone's SD card. No mention of cidnum:11111111 as should be surely?
