yeah spotted that on xda they must have been taken some time apart question for voda users, are your handsets branded at all? not software wise but any logo's etc on the phone, i had to send mine back and the only option is a 3 handset or a voda one.

Nope, I'm using an Orange sim in a Vodafone phone and the only branding is the splash screen and the 360 music thing for the music player as far as I can see.

Just downloaded Android Revolution, never installed a custom ROM before. It seems to be freezing on the Beats Audio logo at startup, can anyone suggest what to do to fix this?

I dont have a Sensation XE, just a regular Sensation, i was led to believe the rom would work on my phone but perhaps im mistaken? I chose the HD 6.5.2XE one at the bottom of the page...

Right ive managed to restore the phone so at least its working again, can i just flash a new custom rom or will I have to do anything else first?

Hmm I don't remember doing that which probably means I didn't... Cheers Brad ill update and retry. Also tried the non XE rom and it also freezes on startup, hopefully you are right!

If your coming from a gingerbread rom then that will be the cause of you getting stuck at the boot logo, really simple to do

Im running Android Revolution HD XE on my standard sensation running fine @ 1.7ghz

whats the version number? as it was available ota a while back on unbranded handsets still wouldnt choose a carrier version tbh arhd all the way

Can't check now afaik as it's downloading. I'll try a custom ROM at some point but the bootloader on my phone is locked & it's still under warranty so not just yet!

warranty doesnt matter but the bootloader does unfortunately, if you had kept it at a s-off state its easy to go back for warranty, done it myself no questions asked

What's S-Off then? As far as I was aware I'd need to unlock the bootloader before I could do anything & that would likely invalidate the remaining warranty. The new version number is 3.32.161.11 for anyone that's interested.

I think if youve done ota upgrade to ics your stuffed atm, unless htc have updated their bootloader unlock

coor. took a few hours but i had s/off'd, rooted and firmwared my sensation.

ICS is going to take some getting used to i feel, but its looking swish running Virtuous Inquisition v4.0.1 :: AOSP-Experience Senseless ICS (4.0.3)
