***The Official HTC Sensation thread***

I will add my 2 cents having had the Sensation for a week its a nice phone but sadly its just not as good as the GS2 simple as that no matter what anyone says the GS2 is the best Android phone around atm,

Its faster and smoother in every way the only 2 things the Sensation has over it for me is the increased screen resolution and how small it feels in the hand but that's not worth having it over the GS2.

Sense was big a few years back when stock Android was terrible but I think now there are so many better alternatives around in launcher pro, go launcher awd launcher there is no reason to use it.

You only have to look at the Plus sides
Nicer screen better viewing angles
16gb internal storage over 1gb(pathetic really)
1gb ram over 768 and with Sense 3 sucking so much of it you will only ever have around 150mb max left, my GS2 now has over 500 meg free and lots on it.
Better media support it pretty much plays anything out there with no problem.
Better battery life
plenty of custom roms out there now, you can flash via odin( so easy to use) or now they are adding roms flash able via Clockwork recovery.

I think HTC have had it there way for so long they have not had there foot on the throttle and Samsung have snook up with the GS and the GS2 and taken the Android crown, seeing as the original GS was the top selling Android phone last year.

This is the first time I've done so much research BEFORE getting a new handset - Its been out two months (if not more) and STILL no unlocked bootloader. I honestly don't see the dev community being excited about it as much as I initially thought they would be, so I'm defo gunna plump for the SGSII. I'm taking that aswell as having internal 16Gb memory it can also support an SD card yes? (Another plus over the sensation)

I will still be selling the gs2. I agree that it is better in almost every way but it was just doing my head in on a daily basis. Email client is the worst I have ever used. That ain't the only reason though.

There are issues with the sensation but for me the functionality of it takes it for me and the sensation is streets ahead in the areas I need.

The only thing I'd really like on the Galaxy S II is the Sense 3.0 lockscreen, it is pretty awesome.

Other than that, I'm not fussed about anything really.

Try them both is my advice but there is only one winner, my mate has a Desire HD and was excited to try the Sensation out he came over my house and was totally disappointed in it, he said it offers me nothing I already have and the fact you can get sense 3 which runs fine on the DHD anyway.

He has canceled his pre-order for the Sensation and agrees its not a patch on the SGS, can't say I have issues with the email client I tend to use K9 which does the job nicely for me.

Yeah that's what it means.

50% is probably about right really (maybe a bit low), 2 and half hours of the screen on is going to give the battery a bit of a lashing, especially on auto brightness.

Lol, sounds like a couple of people have changed their tune big time now :D

Weren't all of us trying to warn you before and pointing out the obvious things?:p

EDIT:

Btw, rooting and flashing custom ROMs on Samsung mobiles is far easier than HTC devices.

Literally load a couple of things into odin, go into download mode on your mobile, click start in odin and you are rooted essentially, then download the ROM that you want and go into recovery and install the .zip, done.

EDIT 2:

Also you can install HTC_IME keyboard, pretty much the same as the sense keyboard, but a lot more features ;)

If you mean me, I am not having second thoughts, nothing would make me go back to the SGS2. When I first got that I killed the battery in 4 hours flat while playing with it.

Turning background data seems to have slowed battery consumption significantly.
