Yes because these things don't matter at all and are done just as good on the sensation (stock) right?
So you've popped into this thread to tell us that those of us who are happy with the phones we have are wrong? I'm happy to entertain you, mind. Lets go!
- An amazing quality screen overall compared to the sensation (colours, viewing angles, blacks are black, better for battery life, easier to read stuff etc. in sunlight etc.)
As I don't walk around with a Galaxy S2 to directly compare my screen to, none of this bothers me. The screen is excellent to my eyes - I really like it. You will remember when I first got it, I didn't - I kept comparing it directly to my AMOLED Desire, unfavourably. I then got rid of the Desire, stopped comparing the two and was immediatly more happy with my Sensation.
As I have yet to experience a RAM related issue it could have eleventy-billion times more RAM and it would make no difference to my ownership experience.
- A lot more internal storage
I have not filled the internal storage nor have I really used the SD card much. Therefore, even if the Galaxy S2 had a 10TB storage capcity, it would make zero difference to my ownership experience.
- A lot smoother and slightly quicker out of the box than the sensation, especially for websites when scrolling or playing flash and scrolling at the same time
I have absolutely no issues with performance and, as above, do not carry a collection of phones around with me and a stop-watch for benchmarking purposes. Therefore I am entirely satisfied with the performance characteristics of this handset.
- Super light, thinner, great build quality
I don't equate super light with good build quality. I don't like it. I like things to have a quality, weighty feel. I like the heavy doors on my car. I like the re-assuring weightyness of my mobile phone. Metal is heavy. I like this. Plastic is light. I hate this. I hate plastic things and avoid them wherever possible. The build of the Galaxy S2 was a MAJOR turnoff for me, probably the biggest and most crucial issue in my decision.
I love the way the Sensation looks and feels and after 6 months it is still in absolutely pristine, mint and as new condition. I like this. I hate plastic phones.
I don't care whether you agree on this because you are not me, and it is me I must satisfy with a phone purchase, not the internet.
- Better battery life overall
The one area you are right. The Sensation battery is irritating and does impact on my user experience.
- Better codec support out of the box and can play nearly every film file etc. thrown at it perfectly fine, where as the sensation can't (using moboplayer)
I installed RockPlayer lite when I got the phone which perfectly serves my needs (Basically limited to watching episodes of The West Wing on the train) so this is of no value to me either.
- Much better camera/video recording especially in low light conditions
I don't video things and for the odd photo I take, the camera seems fine.
But nope those don't matter since the mobile feels like a "fisher priced toy" and not a "premium device" since it is made out of plastic and is light weighted despite being the most "durable" mobile on the market, survives drops etc. much better than the iphones and HTC mobiles.
I don't trash my stuff. I don't care how it stands up to abuse and drops as I do not abuse things I own and therefore am not interested in how many times I can throw it on the floor like a crazy oaf.
Bottom line. I want a device I can browse the internet on, watch the odd TV show with, make and receive calls, send and receive texts, have a few apps, etc. I do not need a mobile HD recording studio nor do I need to compare mobile benchmarks with my mates, and I value quality feel over almost everything else.
Therefore the Sensation was absolutely the right phone for me and I'm very happy with it (BAR THE OMG STUPID SCREENSHOT BUG ARHGHG).
