***The Official HTC Sensation thread***

Sense is so bloaty. The roms are like 400mb compared to 180mb for an AOSP rom.

Compared to stock ICS, Sense looks really outdated and has imo removed all the nice things about ICS.

Indeed. HTC Sense used to be appealing, but stock Android is so good now that you don't need these custom skins.

I'm praying Samsung will drop TouchWiz for the Galaxy S III, but they won't. :(

Anyone got a link to the stock Ice Cream Sandwich ROM for HTC Sensation?

I'm interested on trying it without HTC Sense, not just flashing with no-sense script as I want to see the default android look.

Wow looks loads better than ICS with HTC Sense, what are HTC thinking? :s

They just want their own stuff on, same as Samsung with TouchWiz. The better stock Android gets, the more hate they are going to generate if they keep messing with it like this.

Maybe it's because I like eye candy, but the screenshots in that thread don't look better than Sense 3.5 to me

Meh. From those screenshots it just looks like a bland iOS knockoff....

I think sense looks great, but I'd like to give stock ICS a try to see for myself.

iOS knockoff?!

You couldn't be further from the truth, go and try a Galaxy Nexus and you'll see. :)

I'm talking about the way it looks in those pics, I realise that without trying it myself I could be way off the mark, I have only tried ICS with sense 3.5 (which I'm running now) and I really like the UI on the whole, although admittedly some parts are inconsistent.

Is the sensation xl different other than screen size to the xe and regular? Can I install roms meant for the sensation, onto the xl? Cheers :)

I'm pretty sure the XL uses a single core CPU amongst other differences, because it's not simply a sensation with a bigger screen, it's actually basically a HTC titan running Android instead of WP7, thus not compatible with roms for the normal Sensation AFAIK.
