How much are people finding the battery depleting because of the Always On Display?

It's hard to gauge as this is my first iPhone but I can get through the whole day with it (iPhone 14 Pro). Haven't really used it much today apart from 2 hours of listening to music when jogging and it's dropped from 95%* to 82% with the weather widget constantly updating.

*It uses about 5% overnight, charge it up to 100% just before bedtime and then don't use it til morning.

Ordered my Mrs a 14 as she is long overdue an upgrade on her SE. Family member with an apple discount made the poor exchange rate more bearable. I will see how she gets on as I'm planning to use my 11 for another year as it does everything I want it too, battery is still good and no hint of it being slow. But I really do not want USB C, so tempted to get what will likely be the last one with lightning.

That's the exact opposite for me. I wish the 14s had USB C. Is it because you own a lot of lightning cables/peripherals or something? I would have thought most people would be glad to see the back of propietary interfaces.

Well USB C is just the shape of the connector. It's standardising the plug only. I saw a great video on this yesterday...

But as I said on another thread I have found the USB C on my iPad Pro to be awful. When I get chance it needs to go back as it's very choosy if it wants to charge or not.

He has no insight into it. It's just insane. Why would anyone swap a 14 Pro 128GB for a 13 Pro 256GB then sell that two days later for $750 AUD only to buy another new 13 mini 128GB which he's had a number of times before.
Guess what? Said mate has now swapped his latest 13 Mini 128GB for a 14 Standard 128GB in Blue. This time he managed to return the 13 Mini to the Apple store within 14 days and swap for the 14 Standard, just had to pay the $350 difference.

Why? Because he wants the latest phone, he's already had a 14 Pro remember which he swapped with his dad for a 13 Pro 256GB which he subsequently sold within a few days to buy the 13 Mini.

OCD is a terrible mental illness.

Weird, I’ve had several problems with my ipad pro and the bloody USB-C as well.

Yeah my latest one is no matter what charger I use, no matter what cable after a while it won't charge. It won't recongnise anything being attached. I power down and up again and it works again. Even if I leave the cable attached as soon as it powers back up it's fine. I read elsewhere searching for the problem that there have been issues with non apple chargers damaging frying the connection but I find that hard to believe as the iPad should regulate the charge should it?

Having been with Android the past 6 years and only last December making the move to Apple that's the exact opposite to me.

I've found every single Android device that I've owned all had to have their charging ports changed due to them failing. I've owned many iPhones in the past and have never had an issue with their lightning port/old ports.

It's the same with family members too, everyone that has been with Samsung within 1-2 years the port needs replacing every single one of them. USB-C in my honest opinion isn't as reliable even if it offers greater speeds, my 13 Pro Max chargers up plenty fast enough and i've switched all my cables over now.

Well, that didn't last long. Took the 14 back to Apple store today and went back to a 13 Mini, reckons he read some negative reviews on YouTube about the 14. Explained he had OCD and got a $350 refund. If he carries on like this, they may ban him like other stores have done.

Well, he went back to Apple store today to change back to 14 but he reckons they wanted him to wait an hour, so he changed his mind and came back with the 13 mini. His brother reckons they may have said no.

I must admit I envy my wife quite a bit as she owns a 13 mini, I think the size and weight is awesome and I wish there was a variant with pro features.
