All inspired by Hamlet, Act III, Scene I.
Watched it on the BBC yesterday but got interrupted, shall iPlayer it later today :)

It never required creativity, but it did allow it. Now there are too many custom moulded parts I agree.

Why don't they release a seperate line like "LEGO Classic" where it's just a ton of generic blocks you can use your imagination with.

You can. :)

You can also get wheels, doors, windows, roof tiles and other bits and pieces seperately as well.:p

As for Toys R Us being the largest selection of Lego I can see that, the storage area used for lego in their stores is about the same size (well a bit smaller) as their board games section. Lego Racers, Powerminers, City, creator, Technics, Star wars (a huge amount!), Indiana Jones, Bionicles and recently, Toy story (?!), Ben 10 and one or two other lines as well.:p

I bought the Mindstorms NXT2 other day, having LOADS of fun with it (although am gonna need some more Technic for larger projects)

my girlfriend brought me lego for my 22nd birthday... she knows the way to my heart! haha... used it all to create a logo for my band, lol!

I build a few lego things recently for OspreyO JR. The original land speeder and Vaders Tie fighter. While they look well they are designed badly in that they are not robust and played with at all they fall apart easily. I don't mind the custom parts, but they should be design to be robust so they can be played with .

AFAIK I think you can buy a big box of classic blocks if you want.

I wish they sold more of the characters seperately from the vehicles as OspreyO Jr is mainly interested in the characters. Some of the big boxes have very few characters.

This and the Knights one posted earlier were my favourites as a kid, used to love spending hours changing the layout/windows etc, awesome times. Gonna dig them out and start building ASAP. :)

I once had tons of Lego like 3 or 4 boxes full that someone gave me, one day my mum snuck out with them and gave them away!!!!!!! this is going back a good 6 years ago :P

Seeing that F1 car makes me want one now :D

I love the mini falcon. Its so cool. I want one.

Theres never been a decent X wing has there?

Certainly has! Same range as the death star, falcon, interceptor and star destroyer

This isn't my one (at work and no photo on hand, for shame) but I can confirm its awesomeness! It was £120 new a good few years back.

Gizmodo just posted this, a tour of Lego' lair which holds 'nearly every Lego ever released' in an unused state...pretty damn awesome. Pictures and video in link:

:)

Wow, how cool. Some of my favourites that I still have in that film, like LL928 Galaxy Explorer and the original yellow Castle!

For those of you who collect everything lego they are doing a free toy giveaway that starts tomorrow in The Mirror
Sweet, cheers :)

Is anyone else collecting the lego kits in the Mirror this week?

I am and my mother keeps thinking i'm so sad but they are cool. They are little small lego kits which are very easy to make and you will end up with a pretty decent collection by next thursday!
