Oh my good god!

I was once given a set of lego with a part finished car in with no instructions but i never managed to "re-create" the whole thing and I never knew what it looked like until now!!!!!

I played with that thing on the fining room floor for hours

i have this stashed away got it for my 21st birthday cost my mum around £120 it's now worth in the region of £500-600

Pillar of Autumn, FYI the greatest name for a ship ever.

Incorrect, that goes to pretty much ever ship in the Culture hegemony (though tbh the Pillar of Autumn name was pretty much stolen from Banks along with the HALO rings anyway :p).

In other news, that site with all the instructions on is amazing!! I can rebuild so much stuff that I lost the instructions for now :D

I won this from a newspaper competition when I was a kid:

And the instruction book got lost when we moved house so was never able to rebuild it, now I can :D

Just wanted to say that the prices of Lego advent calendars are ridiculous this year - £25 a box!!!

3 years ago, they were only around £12, so I would easily get 5 and give to my friends whose bday were early Dec. They have gradually crept up to £15/16 but £25 is just too much, even for myself.

Waaaaoh nice to see the thread still going!

All the 'free' lego I got (I say free, it cost tokkens and shipping) I emptied into an ice cream box all mixed up. Nice little collection there to build random things but I'm getting the 'need' to buy some Star Wars Lego, always has been my favourite.

Glad to see the space port above, that grey MOON plates...I created some amazing space ships and bases using them and my mass of totally random/mixed up lego.

God I wished we'd had kept it. Hugh brown box full.

Finished my Christmas present!

Which he was totally over the moon with, and totally not at all for me. Sadly however he couldn't build it by himself, and needed daddy to help build :D

when it was finshed it looked something like this

The controller appears to be the one that comes with the mindstorms kit, so it will be bluetooth (explains the lack of any sort of radio aerial on the control unit in the train too) which is pretty cool !

I got my first Christmas Lego set in what has been many many years this year. and here it is:
