**** The Official OnePlus 6 Thread ****

Never had a fingerprint scanner on a phone until now and never used it as, as soon as I pick this up and can see the screen the face recognition kicks in .....

First time I've had that feature too, so nothing to compare it to, sorry :)

It's pretty good and for when your phone is on your desk, so long as you're over your phone it's a good alternative.

That's on the 3T which doesn't have the 'proper' face unlock, it needs to have at least 3/4 of my face in the front camera's view to work.

Should we expect OnePlus to drop the price of the 6 closer to launching the 6T in October/November? Or are the deals they're doing at the moment where they're chucking in free headphones and cases their alternative to a price drop?

I can't see them dropping the price. It's a classic marketing tactic:

Instead of dropping the price of a product, they offer consumers more for the same money. This gives the perception the product is more premium, and stops consumers thinking "why can't it just be cheaper to begin with"

You see it everywhere :)

There are also out of stock of the deal with the headphones and dash charger as i was going to pull the plug and get one. I will wait now

I've got no interest in the 6T - the only reason I was going to buy a OnePlus was for the headphone jack. If you're not even getting that, it's just compromising all round.

I can't decide if the teardrop notch is an improvement or not. It looks a bit weird whereas the 6 notch blends nicely with the notification bar

The OxygenOS OS itself is great, but the launcher is a bit meh. Really wish they'd put the google now thingy on the swipe left instead of the shelf.

Yeah agreed, the OS is generally my favourite mobile OS but I don't like the shelf, I've never seen the point in it. The Google Now launcher was genuinely useful on my previous phone.
