Just looked can't see one for £530?
I wouldn't, Oneplus phones for me have multiple advantages. A notch and no headphone jack are non-issues.
As to who it's competing with, well just look at the brand new Pixel 3 XL - same CPU as the OP6, less ram, no inscreen fingerprint sensor, a huge notch, no headphone jack. So you're getting less than the OP6 or OP6T, for £840 or £970 for the 128GB versions. The 6T will be under £600 for a 128GB version.
With the Galaxy S9/+ prices being slashed this time of year it's hard to understand why anyone would want the OnePlus 6T,
Sure the OnePlus devices have some advantages but the S9 has more, many of which are a lot more meaningful.
The OnePlus is the closest to the Google experience without owning a Pixel.
Pretty much this for me too, I love stock android, never liked samsungs version. Since the Google nexus phones ceased to be and were replaced by the overpriced Pixel phones, there's not much choice if you want a vanilla android experience. Motorola?Personally I give Samsung a wide berth because I really can't stand their software. They make lovely hardware but imo their software sucks, and that goes for their TVs as well as their phones. I've owned an S7, S8, and a recent 4k SUHD TV from Samsung and they all experienced nasty slowdown after about a year or two of ownership, along with several bugs, glitches and crashes. I don't like Bixby, I think the skin they put on their phones is ugly compared to stock Android, and their own apps are weak compared to the Google ones. I know you can alter the look of the phone with a different launcher, etc, but I would rather just start with a cleaner look in the first place.
Don't get me wrong, Oneplus phones aren't by any means perfect. For example they really could do with a proper IP rating, it would be nice if the camera was just a bit better so that it competed directly with the likes of the iPhone and Pixel phone, I'd like the ability to do wireless charging (and their excuse for not having it seemed pretty lame), and the lack of an always-on display is a bit annoying at times, but I still think they represent the best value for money phones out there.
Tempted by OP6. Is it worth waiting for the 6T? Doesn’t seem to be much difference and these things are a bargain on the bay...
Not sure if OnePlus pull old models when the new are released but the fact they're using an optical fingerprint sensor makes me want to wait for reviews first. Optical sensors are far slower than ultrasonic under displays sensors and regular capacitive sensors so it could be a big weakness. Does look fantastic though.Tempted by OP6. I don't really trust the security of any face unlock to be honest.Apparently their face unlock tech is super quick so I’m not that bothered about front facing finger print scanner.
Not having to deal with Samsung is enough reason to get the O6T over the Note 9/ S9 even if they are the same price.Note 9 128GB now on Tobydeals for £584 if you don't mind taking a punt.
Just saying.
