The official Philips BDM4065UC thread

Participant - that's windows UI scaling, still messing about with it but it was at 4K. Dropped it a fair bit now though until I get use to it.

Not calibrated the screen either yet but have to say I'm thrilled with how sharp it looks, only negative I've had so far was after installing the Philips software, it's slow and reset most of my options including setting the monitor back to 30Hz, so it's been removed lol

Here's an updated photograph, think I've got scaling set to 150%

100% scaling is fine to my eyes

Right, so I've received my one yesterday and it is amazing. Of course, it could have a better viewing angles (coming from IPS) and it does feels like it bends away from you, but it has its own strengths and overall I'm very happy and excited about it.

Anyway, I have noticed today something like a dead pixel in the lower right corner, but it doesn't look quite right, looks more as a smudge. So I thought I'll post a couple of images for your guys to look at and maybe you will be able to shed some light on what it is?

Any ideas?

hmm, seems like a reasonable option, will try to contact ocuk tomorrow and see what they have to say, really don't want to stay without a monitor as I already created quite a nice setup.

Upon closer inspection I've found another black dot. This one is in upper left corner and seems to be in front of the pixels. At least this one is practically invisible in a normal conditions, so it doesn't bother me too much.

Hi, a couple of quick questions

Could somebody measure the stands width foot print for me please, I have a 30” on a riser and not sure if I would need a bigger riser.

I have a Dell U3011 running Flight sim and Project cars very well at 2560 x 1600 with a 780ti, would I get a similar performance if I upgraded to a 980ti at 3840 x 2160

Many thanks
Steve

Base is 52.5cm (under 21") wide, 21cm (8 1/2 ") deep at pointiest bits.

Monitor scales very well, I've tried 1080P, 1440P etc and all of them look fine, if you shove on 1:1 it'll reduce the size but look just as clear as on a 2560x1600 monitor too, plenty of options to mess about with, not found a resolution I haven't been happy with yet.

I tend to drop res for GTA V, but have it full screen, quality still looks nice and sharp but means my 980 can keep up, it can run it in 4K but I don't like lowering too many settings and recording 1400P is a lot less intensive than 4K !

Thank you very much Halfmad, it’s around an inch too wide so I will have to get a wider riser.

The Dell I have it is a 16:10 aspect, with everything now 16:9 this looks like the only screen that is big enough so I don’t lose any height on the screen and everybody seems very impressed with it.

Love the wallpaper you have on your screen in your photo, it looks very impressive.

Many thanks
Steve

I must sit quite high on my chair, 59cm is about an inch higher than my current monitor and my eye line is around the top 3rd of the screen.
Just my weird seating position

Regards
Steve
