Might look into one, gather I need one with a heatsink.
Most seem to be around the £100+ mark for a 2tb, might wait till I see some offers on.

Not reading up much on the storage side of things, I presumed it was like the older gen consoles where you swapped out the hard drive altogether, didn’t realise the ps5 had an extra slot inside.

Yep heatsink is required. If you're not in a rush it'll be worth keeping an eye on HotUKDeals for a decent offer on one, and people usually making a point of saying if it's PS5 compatible when they post one. You're probably looking at £120-140 for a 2TB one, I've got a 1TB one and that's been plenty.

Thanks, do you move games from internal to the expandable storage to play them or just whatever drive the games on.

I just keep them where they are, there's no real difference in performance between the two.

Is there a way to turn it off? Last time I checked there wasn't, and I don't really sew the point of screenshot whenever I get a trophy.
You can turn off trophy screenshots/captures etc but you can't completely disable the background recording.

Finally!

Matt black slim covers available. And ordered!

Damn, still no standard ones. :(

Yeah, sorry, I had a look as well as I remembered somebody (must have been you) said in the thread they were after some.

I think your best bet is probably second hand. As the Slim is the default PS5 now I'm not sure how likely they'll be back. I mean nothings definite though.

Prices second-hand are bonkers unfortunately, people seem well-aware they haven't been available for over a year and are scalping accordingly. I do live in hope that they'll reappear at some point, they're still releasing new colours for the original consoles so there's always a chance.

That is a good point, you never know, as you say they did release the volcanic covers for the original and the Matt black slim was some time after the equivalent slim ones.

They may have a spare bit of plastic that they will choose to sell on, they must know it's an easy sell surely.

Here's hoping, if I happen to see anything I'll be sure to mention it.

It's been by far the worst generation of gaming for me. So little that interested me on the PS5.
Xbox One literally killed my love for gaming. After the fantastic Xbox OG and Xbox 360, the Xbone was such a letdown. Biggest buyers remorse I've ever had. Pretty much put me off gaming.

That game has no right to be as good as it is considering it's free.

My first time using the dualsense and getting to the 'ice' area of Astros Playroom was incredible, I do wish more games took advantage of it.
You guys are gonna tip me over to hit the order button for a PS5. I have Astro for PS4 along with PSVR and it's definitely quirky and fun.Oh man ...

I just disabled the trophy screen capture, it does seem pointless, there is also a video clip it auto records as well for trophies.

Settings > captures and broadcasts. Scroll to bottom and select trophies, set both to whatever you want, I set both to none.
Did the same for challenges as well.

If you bought digital games or add-ons via the PlayStation Store between 19 August 2016 and 19 August 2022, you could be due some cash if the lawsuit is successful.

How much you'll receive depends on how much you spent on PlayStation content.

PlayStation You Owe Us estimates that if the claim is successful, Sony will have to pay between £0.6bn and £5bn in damages.

Individuals could be paid between £67 and £562.

I originally voted "unlikely to buy either" in this thread, but ended up buying a PS5 slim DISC version last weekend.

I've been having a blast with it so far, mostly playing FF16 but I mainly picked it up for FF7: Rebirth. I'd originally intended to sell it once I'd finished both games, but I've been getting on with it enough that I'm tempted to just keep it.

Pacific Drive - I would advise on holding tight with your money until some performance updates are added.

It seems the game was targetted for the PC as on the PS5 it runs at 4k30...and barely 30. It is quite uncomfortable to play and I was immediately struggling on my 1440p monitor. The controls aren't the most intuitive either so it feels like a Rockstar title in that respect. I am not sure why the hell they've targetted 30fps for such a 'simple' looking game either. PC users with godly rigs are getting an assortment of frame rate experiences so optimisation isn't good.

Complaints are slowly trickling in along with early mission bugs reports. Visually the game is lovely as is the haunting audio. The game uses dualsense very well...a bit too well and my controller was stuck vibrating for a long time, which won't help its batteries.

You can only save at a garage too, so in between trips and not in the field.
