Sorry if this is already known but I checked the Vodafone early upgrade page as I have 130 days left on my contract and it is now showing the SGS2 as available to pre-order with an expected delivery date of May 16th.
As much as I want this phone I am going to hold off until I reach the standard upgrade date, as I don't want to have to pay £129 + £30p/m or £79 + £35p/m on a 24 month contract + the 130 days.

I'm in the same boat, was hoping to have my nice shiny new phone by my birthday on the 14th
Do I upgrade / get a retention deal or cave in and switch to O2 and pay more money
My birthday is the 13th! Was born on Friday the 13th too.

sync the iphone 4 to gmail, plenty of free apps for it. then they just sync to the sgs2 ota

Well Well small world. CPW don't have any T-Mobile deals so its definately delayed somewhat compared to other networks. My instincts tell me June

Brief first impressions...
Very, very impressed. I'm still fiddling around with the various aspects of TouchWiz which is much better than it was on the original Galaxy S, but its certainly going to be removed at some point in future
The screen is just superb, its not quite as sharp as the Retina display on the iPhone but the difference is hardly noticeable in general use. Everything else about it is better.
The camera is excellent, this is the first phone camera that I've found is clearly better than the one on the iPhone 4. The video recording appears better yet, I haven't tested it out properly though just yet
The build quality seems absolutely fine, the phone is very light as I was expecting and it feels totally solid. It doesn't feel as premium as the iPhone but it certainly doesn't feel cheap.
Speed-wise, its very snappy and flash is almost 100% smooth in the browser, the first time I've experienced that on an Android phone, impressive stuff.

OK so I held the dummy phone in CPW today, nobody had an actual demo model. in, the Vodafone store said few weeks time and that they could cut me a deal half way through my current contract but they're waiting for Vodafone to finish their customisations hich we all know is a load of garbage so I don't really want a Vodafone branded phone so will just buy it sim free now

hmm gonna throw a spanner in the works here...i was well up for getting one of these , great spec, great reviews etc then i tried a live demo in the shop today and was a bit meh....
speed increase is nice as is the extra space and camera, the 'magical screen' everyone is raving about didnt really hit me - not helped by samsungs rubbish icons and ui id expect but still i just dont think its worth upgrading from a desire at this moment in time. will wait for a for more of these phones to hit the maket and take my pick.

yeah, but compared to my iPhone 3G, this phone is going to be like swimming in an ocean of boobs. You can't get me down about it

oh yeh im sure it will be, i guess it just depends what phone your upgrading from really...but for me desire -->> s2 is a nono upgrade.

I think mine has "disappeared". It has been sat at the delivery depot since 6:34am yesterday and then nothing... phoned DHL/Yodel who said they would investigate and phone me back in 2 hours.... that was 4 hours ago.
doesn't look good. I suppose at least they didn't do the say its at depot till 9pm then suddenly change to could not deliver. I have literally been sat next to the front door for the past 2 days. If I had a life or something else to do this week I would be more annoyed.

Is it possible to keep the screen on when charging?
