****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

Full charge overnight, unplugged at just after 7am and used maybe an hour and a half listening to music via headphones, a bit of fiddling with the settings and typing a few gchat messages - battery down to 18% by 14:00 - so about 7 hours. Is there something wrong? I see other people reporting two days usage, I think mine will be dead by the end of the working day!

Gorilla glass means nothing lots of horror stories on the net of people scratching there screens on different phones with gorilla glass, this is the reason I alway use screen protectors plus helps with selling on.

The T9 search issue I noted in my review, an update!

I was playing around and when you T9 search a contact:, click on the down arrow on the right of the number field so it lists that one number (as mentioned earlier) and then click on that number that it shows, you will then be presented with all numbers for that contact.

This seems kind of illogical compared to teh other stuff Samsung has implemented in other areas of the phone but it's a solution I guess.

Now the 2nd part of this problem still remains, when T9 searching using the above you still can't view the contact card for the contact and the only way to view the contact card is by going into the contacts tab, scrolling or searching to the contact from there.

I like to be able to T9 search a contact in the dialler then click on them and see their card immediately (as with HTC Sense/Dialer One) so will be sticking with Dialer One.

I'm really puzzled though. I keep it in my trouser pocket with the screen facing my leg so if i bump into something it won't hit it. I really cannot fathom how it's happened, nothing has come into contact with the screen other than my own finger as far as i can remember.

I ordered a case and screen protector the day i got the phone. Sadly the screen protector is still on preorder.

Have you had harder than usual erm... wood, lately? :D

Awesome... is that your own, or are the pics from another site? If it is your own can you please tell me if when in the case the phone has any explosed edges that could get marked in a drop, or is it completely covered in that respect?

Will be interesting to see if a leather case affects device temperature in any significant way.

Oddly I find myself always going through the contacts list (really should try dialer one) anyway, but on a related note I did see that on the contact card page you can long-press on a number and set that as the default, which is then the 1 number that shows up on the T9 dialer bit...

I know about this and it's of no use if you have multiple numbers for someone and want to contact them at, say work quickly even if you normally contact them on their mobile!

Strangely I don't know of anyone with a screen scratched like that. I imagine the internet horror stories involve extreme circumstances that are never mentioned on forums/whatever.

Small annoying thing.

When I open my email I have my Hotmail as my Prime account, when I open it I get a small notification bubble says "no selected account" then fades away again..what does that mean....bugs the hell outta me!

I've had my SGS for like 10 months without a screen protector and it's not got a scratch on the screen.

Same with the guy next to me at work. The original galaxy doesn't have the cornings glass is that right?

Unless you work in a really dusty area / worksite I really can't see the point of a screen protector - much less a case which practically doubles the depth of the phone.

The point is protecting your 500 quid device from any potential or unexpected bumps and scrapes! All it takes is one accidental drop onto a hard surface like stone etc and plastic can be ruined.

I left my work pass in my pocket and it has a metal clip on it. That must have rubbed against the screen for a bit because now there is a mark on the screen. I wouldn't say it is a scratch but a slight indentation on the screen which smudges collect in making it more visible. When the screen is wiping this indentation is completely invisible.
