****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

T-mobile suggest I go into CarphoneWarehouse to get my upgrade deal so I can get the phone sooner. Looks like I'll be making a trip there on Saturday morning!

The guy I spoke to at Mobiles.co.uk told me Carphone Warehouse had the same situation, ie no stock due to sending them back, because of the software error, but he could be wrong.
Mobiles.co.uk are part of Carphone Warehouse as far as I know.
I would call your local branch before making the journey.

Made an order from Phones4u today as mobiles.co.uk don't have the stock in. The only problem is that it will take between 3-5 days for delivery! Also, I must remember to cancel the order from mobiles tomorrow morning :p

For all you guys desperate to get an SGS2, I would just try searching gumtree and ebay. I've managed to buy four so far, from £300-£365, and samsung are really good about warranty repairs so you don't need all the documentation. You have to be pretty quick to pick up the bargains but they are there.

Why do you need 4? I see a fair few on gumtree for £300-£400, but the cynic in me says they are nicked/hooky etc. I am not an expert on phones, but if the person they were nicked form had reported the IMEI number I assume they would stop working?

I don't - I sold two to my friends, one on ebay and kept the other for myself. Of course there's always the chance of then getting blocked but if you buy them that cheap theyre worth what you paid even in blocked condition as they can be sold abroad and even potentially unblocked with the right kit.

3-400 for a potentially nicked phone?

Are you nuts?

And only Nokia by the looks of it. I don't know any other phone that does that so if it;s a must then you're stuck with Nokia.

Maybe so, but in answe to Jabbs, its not unreasonable for someone with little experience of Android, and experience with Nokia phones, to query why its not there.

What is the best SatNav/map app offline for orienteering?

I am looking for a good satnav/map application for off road walks. I would like to use this map, obviously, on GS2.

And as usually walks will take place in some remote locations without 3G i would like to have good set of detailed maps preloaded on my phones dedicated SD card.

Do you know any app worth recommendation?
