****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

I honestly don't know what to say to someone who honestly seems to think that there is no cap.

Its like arguing with a brick wall.

same. i had the chap explain the exact details to me of the speed i'd get for each level, 3g, edge, etc and got him to confirm with other people no cap and that's what he insisted on. not much you can do after they say there isn't one but ring back to get the same issue. i'd imagine the put a note on your account saying you rang for that reason so when you ring back it'll say the same answer.

however idid get a differnt answer in that my guy said i'm only normal rates and webnwalk is reserved for tmobile customers only and is additional speed

Got my perforated case like Khaan's today. Very nice too. Nice matt finish and really augments the phone well. Goodbye old £2.95 rubber case. Got a screen protector from the same seller on t'bay but its hopefully going back - its as thick as a choppin board (nearly!).

How do I know when this lovely thing has finished charging? It may have vibrated slightly a few minutes ago, it may not. The battery is fully green but the dots just under it are continuing to animate.

You're not worried about it being fully charged before using it are you? Battery technology has moved on a lot since the Nokia 3210:p

Gone from a iPhone 3GS to a Galaxy S2

Hello everybody, this is my first post, question and observation, I've had the Galaxy S2 for about 8 days now and have previously had a iPhone 3GS, I'm really impressed with the phone itself, the video recording is just awesome quality and its really nice to have dual mic's so as to get right and left audio channel on recordings. I was a little disappointed that I couldnt play Samurai II: Vengeance and have written the developers to ask if they plan on supporting other dual core cpu's, GPU's etc on android handsets but am still waiting for a response. The earphones that came with the phone I felt output a poorer quality of audio then those supplied with the iPhone, also the lack of being able to go forward and backwards a track from the earphones remote was a little disappointing, I ended up switching to the iPhones earphones instead at least until I've got money for a new pair of Shure earphones, going on to use the iPhones I felt that I could not quite get the audio to similar quality as to what I had gotten use to after using many iPod's a iPhone 3G and 3GS, I went on to try Power Amp as a customizable equalizer is something that I've always missed on Apple's mp3 players and handsets, but after much tweaking of the equalizer, and what I feel did amount to a improvement, I still don't think the audio quality the Galaxy S2 is outputting is on par with the 3GS's using the same earphones.

As I've still got about 5 days left within which to decide to keep it or not I would appreciate any suggestions. At the moment I'm a little torn as to returning it and waiting for iPhone 4GS / 5 as I do use my phone for a lot of audio playback.

Thanks, Ray :D

Sound quality? Download powerAMP and give that a try :)

Also, nVidia have paid the Samurai 2 devs for exclusivity on Android, who knows how long it'll last... (search XDA if you want to play it illegally, apparently it runs perfectly on a Defy ;))

Well... had my GS2 for a few days now and having been a Desire owner for over a year I've come to the following conclusions:
GS2 is a better phone in pretty much every way - the screen is gorgeous, the responsiveness of the screen and general speedyness at which things happen is a big step up. The camera is truely a huge step up from the Desire - really really impressed with that.
However its not all roses...
The GS2 has BIG issues with keeping a 3G signal whilst moving and noticeably worse Wi-Fi range.
For example - I used to be able to keep wi-fi connection whilst in my back garden no problem with my Desire but now its completely non existant on my GS2.
Hell even whilst sat on the crapper it is flakey which is less than 5 m away from the router...was never a prob with my desire.
Similarly on one of my regular train journeys I'd maintain a data connection for around 75% of the time on my desire whereas on the GS2 its down to about 15%....
Not sure if its an issue with default firmware or whatever but it is a noticeable step down in terms of useability.
That aside... its a truely amazing phone.

This is 100% correct, I compared the signal strength to my HTC Desire and I get full bars all around my house but I get 1 bar or sometimes 3 bars in my house so yes there is an issue with the wi-fi signal with this phone.
