****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

Where'd u hear that? I've not heard anyone say SGP is better before...
I've had them both. I like MF, but the ones I had suffered with grease and had a bit of a blue tint. SGP is as good a fit you could ask, totally clear and no where near the MF grease magnet. SGP surface smoothness is just a good if not better. Oh and cheaper. Can't comment on the SGP long term scratch resistance. Check XDA, I'm not alone with that opinion.

Interesting, what about the protection it offers? And is it true it's more of the peel on type protector? I think the MF ones are more solid, to u just kinda pop them on..

First full day with my phone. Full charge this morning. Sat in my pocket all day, played 20 mins of angry birds at lunch, sent a few texts, home and battery is at 71%, super light usage I know, but by now my Hero would be down in the 40s :D

Also used it to watch iPlayer in bed last night, works amazingly well, pausing the video, going out into messaging to send some texts, straight back in and playing the video again, absolutely faultless, this is proper multitasking, has a real desktop PC feel to it :)

See the edit, added a bit. It's different, no not as thick as the MF, but thicker than all the others (4 in total) I tried for the SGS2. It uses a low tac adhesive so grabs to the edges, the MF would lift around cutouts. It's silky smooth and appears quite hard so far. The others I tried scratched very easily. It's pretty hard to tell it's on there. I took a picture straight from my pocket, but they always look nasty, dust and that. Looks way better in real life.

Thanks for doing that, based on that I've ordered the oleophobic (sp?) one :D

i just called them too and got the same "early june" reply

its more annoying that i can go to one of these buyacheapmobilefromus.com on orange but not directly from them (where i will get a much better deal)

You won't get a much better deal at all. Just get one from one of the other suppliers and stop crying like a girl :p

As above, I rememeber 18 months ago getting my girlfriend a contract renewal with orange, came away with the Dolphin 30 plan £30 usually, for £21 a month.

Went to Phones4u at the weekend and they couldnt believe the deal she had already and as they can deal with Orange renewals, she kept the same tariff she is on, for 18 months, with the SGSII for free :o

Can't help thinking that Orange would have told her that they couldn't keep her on the same tariff if she wanted the SGSII.

So in all shes got a SGSII, with 500 mins, Unlim Texts & Unlim net (500mb) for £378!

Which I thought was ridiculously good as my total cost as a new customer to phones4u is £640.

Was in the same situation, I have just bought the phone offline, and will get Orange to give me a cheap contract (£10ish a month). Total cost of ownership (for me) would work out slightly more than getting an upgrade from them and being tied to a 2 year contract, but I am willing to pay slightly more to get the phone now.

£470ish for phone + 24 x £10 a month as opposed to something like a free Phone from Orange and being tied to £27-£30 contract for 24 months. Orange have no excuse now, all other networks have released it now.
