****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

I've stopped using the app drawer almost always. Quicker to just search for the app after long pressing menu. Though I like the 3D app drawer in LauncherPro which ain't entirely functional.

I'd disagree!

(yt still processing)

App drawer is a lot more functional than searching :p Moreso when you're on the move and just want to quickly launch an app, easier to do it via the app drawer in Go as you'd have already configured folder categories and it also supports both landscape and portrait!

I like those folders Khaaan!

Is it possible to achieve 'sliding' folders directly on the home screen, much like the iPhone has? (I'm sure you know what I mean)

You can do just that via Simi Folder (free), I've been playing with it all day and it works quite well but like I mentioned earlier, you need to manually sift through the entire app listing (every time, it doesn't hid apps already in a folder) to add apps to each folder, there's no simple drag and drop like there is on Go.

Can't be assed with folders! I have apps quite well organised on my homescreens. Have GO launcher on my phone so I can try new themes and icons.

If a longer process to get to an app is better for you then I suppose that's all good :p

^you're just slow at typing lol. I'm not demeaning your method, cos you've clearly taken time to do organise stuff into folders. My most used apps are only one swipe away in a 6 by 4 grid, either side of the homescreen. Plus I have apps in the scrollable docks. If only GO had the funky scaling transition that Launcherpro has...

:p

Which scaling transition?

Hey Khaaan do you know of a way to sort the homescreen folders alphabetically?

In general? I don't think there is an option to do that as you're placing them manually on the homescreen anyway so one would assume you'd be placing them in some kind of order :p

Theres a transition effect in launcherpro called "scale", its the best one imo. tb I've gooten so used to searching for apps cos I use the search a lot for web and contacts search too.

Been looking at a few free music players today and I noticed they all have a notification icon that is separate from the stock one. So if I play an song in doubletwist, I see 2 entries in the notification drawer. Do all players do this?

I am just after a minimalistic music player that has lock screen controls and widget controls, preferably both showing album art. Poweramp is the one a lot of people recommend but the interface on it looks a bit over complicated (I am looking for something simple like the stock Samsung player or iPod/iPhone players, visually).

Really disappointed with Orange, phoned them last week hoping to upgrade to a GS2 because my contract is almost up and was told that they won't have any until early June. Called back today and the guy on the phone told me that they'd had some in but they've all gone and the next lot is due in 'June sometime'.

Asked if I can put my name on a waiting list of some sort, or if a rep from the upgrade team could contact me when they arrive. Apparently the only thing I can do is go online a click on the 'receive an email when in stock' which I done about 2 weeks ago.

Are Orange always the last to get the new phones? :(

Just upgrade at Phones 4 u or some other phone outlet.

Right just walked round my house with my S2 and my wifes desire running wifi analyser and it turns out they are both nearly identical when it comes to signal reception even though the S2s default wifi indicator nearly always shows a bar less apart from when fairly close to the router.....

Not sure why Samsung did that?

I very much like GoLauncher but its a teeny-tiny bit laggy I think, certainly doesn't seem as smooth as LauncherPro overall... though its pretty close :p

I really like the app draw mostly, can I get that without it or not?

Launcher Pro seems a bit shaky for me since the latest update - I've had several force closes.

If only I could have the flexibility of LP with TW.. :(
